This will probly make the people who hate FF feel even worse

Its a 3D proto-type that would have had the '03 cartoon in 3D CGI,IMO it looks great, watch the whole thing.

No offense, but... You must have been living under a rock when that came about, in 2001. Apparently Peter Laird liked that concept better than what Kids WB was proposing circa the same time because we never saw anything other than concept art for that one. The WB's premise was lame. The John Woo CGI series would have been awesome. Perhaps we'll get that as a response to the CGI film (tentatively scheduled for release March 23rd, 2007).

Buslady 10-12-2006 09:35 AM

Yeah old news. You can download that on TMNT official.

Why would this make the people who dislike Fast Forward feel even worse?

My thoughts exactly. It doesn't even have anything to DO with FF! *scratches head in total confusion*

Jo Dawn 10-12-2006 01:16 PM

I'm assuming 'cause it's just a way better alternative.

gobo 10-12-2006 02:12 PM

CIVIL WAR - I'm with the Pirate Wench... for now.

Okay. I agree. That was a retarded way of saying "by George, I think she's got it". But, I have a feeling that, even if they do try to serialize the movie, it wouldn't be as good as this "pilot". :ohwell:

Wildcat 10-13-2006 12:22 AM

OH so it is old! sorry I didn't know,I barely found it through a topic someone made on IMDB on the TMNT movie board.

Oh thanks Gobo for giving me that link,I'll have to watch those when I get time:) ....

Strange though I visit the Official TMNT site pretty often since the Turtles returned in '03 and I never saw that, imagine that...

Finally the reason I said it would make the FF haters feel worse is cause its the 03 toon (which pretty much everyone likes better) in 3D and since it never became a reality, and instead we have FF,I would think that would make the FF haters mad, though I would love to see the whole series in 3D I'm one of the few that actually likes both the 03 toon and Fast Forward.

I'm sorry to say this but I'd rather have no TMNT then some lame CGI show.

Yeah the new movie is CGI but atleast in that the TMNT don't look horribly lame.

gobo 10-13-2006 02:10 AM

No problem, Wildcat. At NinjaTurtles.com, check out the site map. That'll probably show you everything you never knew was there. :)

Oh, I'm all for regular cartooning, also... Trust me. Just if we HAD to have either FF or that CGI, well... I'd take anything over FF!

Though, personally, like Spit, I'd have rather NO turtles than that. My answer was merely to clear up why people thought people not liking FF would be mad. It had no bearings on MY feelings to the subject, really, even if I do agree, hah.

gobo 10-13-2006 06:34 AM

I agree that CGI is no replacement for good ol' cel animation, but the tone of that pilot was sweet. That would have been a quite humorous show. It concerned me that the first thing that came to mind regarding the animation was Beast Wars. Although I've always found it a chore to sit through any Transformer show, that wasn't the issue. I'm referring to how slowly the action scenes were executed. I felt like I was watching a kung-fu movie in slow-motion. However, since this was only a sample, and therefore not a full effort, I expected that an actual episode would have corrected these minor problems. But, I was actually excited for it to wash the horrible image of TNM to the back of my mind. I prefer the revamp we did get though. But, I'd prefer that CGI concept had been revisited instead of 2K3 being mocked by Fast Forward. While FF is no TNM, they really should have started the continuity back at zero.

Aye it's old... U can download the entire pilot at the official TMNT site...it's been up there for several years.

See back in 2001 Mirage was thinking of having a CGI TMNT series...but nobody was interested in it so it was dropped... around that same time WB had a proposed TMNT series as well.... a series where Casey and April were teenagers....the artwork was horrible...

Here's where u can see the clips of the CGI series:

Here's the designs for the proposed WB series:

Yeah Ive seen those art concepts for WB,the Turtles looking horrable is an understatment, they looked like total crap(for lack of a better word),boy I'm glad WB didn't get to do it.

iris 10-13-2006 08:47 PM

I didn't think the WB designs looked THAT horrid. And I'm sure they'd have been tweaked a bit prior to debut. I do like what Fox ended up with though.

Yeah... I really liked this pilot thingy, but mostly because it was a novelty. I don't think I'd have liked it as a weekly show. I abhor most CGI stuff. Nevertheless, this "pilot" had a fairly good feel to it in character movement and ambience, FWIW.

Sewer Bull 10-14-2006 03:01 AM

This pilot looks awesome but the pilots look awesome in general. The problem is - the movies don't always follow the quality of their pilots.

The design of the TMNT and Triceratons is pretty odd, tho'. Very "crappy CGI"-ish, unlike the 2007 one. I bet I couldn't stand this show and nothing is to regret, really.

And April looks a lot like Kirstie Alley in this video.

I may be in the minority, but I actually think the concepts for the WB turtles looked pretty neat. As far as Casey and April, I'll go ahead and agree with the majority.

I agree the concept art for the wb series of atleast the turtles is very cool and very mirage-ish.
