Greatest crossover idea ever.

hot damn! Now that has potential.

gobo 10-31-2006 02:09 PM

:o There's an AoD comic series???????? Why didn't anyone tell me??! :x I haven't bought a comic in years, but that's more than enough reason to do some back-issue hunting.

iris 10-31-2006 02:14 PM

Yeah... there was a mini series that I just barely resisted buying. I think it was 3-4 issues.

DrSpengler 10-31-2006 02:14 PM

It's been out for a few years now. The first three arcs are currently available in trade, "Ashes to Ashes", "Shop til you Drop" and "Army of Darkness vs. Re-Animator".

There are currently 2 arcs going on at the same time, "Ash vs. Dracula" and "Darkman vs. Army of Darkness".

And yes, this is the greatest crossover since Archie vs. the Punisher. I cannot wait.

Is this one part of a large mini-series or what? Spengs?

Ahgh... no wonder my dealer was confused when I asked him about the series.

:o You really ARE a hippie...
Donatello: Dealers are dorks. Don't even talk to 'em.
All 4 (in unison): Cowabunga!

iris 10-31-2006 03:42 PM

Oh please. Donatello is the reason I have a dealer in the first place. ;)

Hail to the king, baby! This new crossover -- it looks like it's gonna be crazy.

I'm enjoying the AoD comics so far and this has an impression of no dissapointment. Heck, I'm even being Ash for Halloween...

Well, the Army of Darkness comic had two minis ("Ashes to Ashes" and "Shop til you Drop") before it eventually got an ongoing. The first 4 issues of the on-going chronicled the "vs. Re-Animator" arc, 5-7 collected the "Old School" arc and 8-11 is the "vs. Dracula" arc. The "vs. Darkman" arc is a seperate miniseries all together.

The story for #12-13 I know nothing about, only that they'll be a prelude to the seperate "Vs. Marvel Zombies" arc.

There's also a "Takes of Army of Darkness" one-shot which collects several short Ash-related stories taking place at various points in continuity.

The Army of Darkness comic is VERY light-hearted and not something that takes itself seriously. It's recently gotten a bit more "serious" starting with "Old School", but still has a tongue-in-cheek atmosphere to it.

Does anyone know if Dynanite's adaptation of the movie includes scenes that were never filmed? In the commentary, Sam talked about a scene with pillars that they ran out of budget for. I wish he gave some details, but I found out from somewhere that it was supposedly in the Dark Horse adaptation from back in the day.

Brodie 10-31-2006 09:33 PM

Awesome, I loved Marvel Zombies.

Spitfire 10-31-2006 11:25 PM

Haha I gota buy that. Man I wish I got the other zombie issues. I never got the last one.

KROW 11-01-2006 12:21 AM

Awesome. They should've done this to begin with.
