How is my old buddy Spider-Man doing?

Ever since "Civil War" started and they changed Peter's costume, I haven't read anything Spidey. And I consider myself a fan. I like Ultimate, but I haven't touched anything 616 for quite a while...and I refuse to until they put him back where he belongs.....

But tell me, are any of the current comics worthwhile??

He's a major part of Civil War, which I really enjoy. I'd give it a look.

See, this behaviour is exactly what annoys me about US-comic fans. They go "Oh, I don't like this. I'm never ever ever EVER reading a comic book of this series again. NEVER!" when there's the slightest unpleasant thing. Not a single bit of patience of courage to try something new. Sure, scepticism is allowed, but what I read when I hear "Upset fans" babbling is just ridiculous. "Oh, Spidey's new costums sucks, I'll never read a Spider-Man title again! And I'll never be willing to actually consider reading a couple of issues just to see how it works." Right...

Oh, and just to clear things up: This is not directed at anyone personal, it's merely a general statement of how I see american fan culture.

In fact, Spidey's new costume and all that has played out nicely. I really like what they've done with the character and how the new costume not only influenced him as a person, but also the people around him.

So my advice: Stop being angsty and upset about it and get those backissues.

What he's trying to say is that Spidey receiving this costume is part of a bigger picture, specifically the events of Civil War. It's not permanent and should be looked at as nothing more than a plot device, just like the symbiote was. To based avoidance of the character on the costume alone is a tad outlandish.

Doesn't he have NEW powers now????

Dr. Doom 11-30-2006 01:40 PM

Not that I'm aware of.

Why would he? Do you want him to be Snorkel Man?

One thing that may seem contrived is the attempt to resurect the Black costume that Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, gave him around the release date of Spidey 3.
