so, in that page you can have email of many 'people' in the company, what if we emailed them about bringing some digests of the TMNT?

With the movie, and Fast Forward take on the franchise it might be the best time for some "campaign" for fans.

I bought a lot on ebay and enjoy them very much, but i'd love to be able to get some issues i 'm missing even if in digest formula, anyone else interested?

I think, and this may just be me, that Trade Paper Backs would make the most sense. And we should have them because if Mirage is being allowed to use the Archie characters and finish up the Archie story then why wouldn't they be allowed to release TPBs of the issues?

I assume they haven't been released yet because Laird isn't very fond of the series, at least this is what we were told. I find this funny because it's the most liked among fans with it's mix of Mirage and the old toon.

Either way I'd love to see some TPBs or even these digests but I'd much prefer a nice TPB.

Archie themselves don't own the rights to any of the characters, so Mirage is free to do what it wants with them (so long as they have the proper rights to any of the non-core characters that are involved in the story). Archie only owned the rights to publish the title. Since they gave up that right of their own free will, I don't know if they'd be able to publish TPBs if they wanted to.

My understanding of why The Forever War it hasn't been published yet is simply because it isn't finished.

As for digests vs. TBPs, there WERE about 7 TMNT digests that were published, though obviously those didn't cover close to the entire series. I kinda like the smaller size of them. But, yeah, TPBs would probably be better. I know I'd buy 'em (and I already own all of the individual comics).

I know the Forever War isn't out because it isn't done. I mean Mirage has those issues they could easily do a Trade if they wanted.

TPB's of the archie series is definitley something I would buy. I only had a chance to read a few archie issues when i was younger, but boy did I love the ones I had. Heres to hoping that we can get something like that. Anyone think we have good chances? O...and btw, if anyone knows of any other ...ahem..alternative way I could scope out a couple of these issues, please PM me and lemme know! Great, thanks!

I do think that there's close to zero chance of TPBs ever happening, unfortunately.

actully quite a few issues are rather hard to find. sad but true.

From what I hear Peter quite likes Archie. He drew many of their covers and also got other Mirage people like Lawson and Farley to contribute to the comic.

Let's not forget that he most haved okayed the Archie crew of Clarrain and Allen to contribute to the currenrt Tales of the TMNT book.

I also vaguely remember a quote from him saying that if the old toon had turned out like Archie then he wouldn't have had a problem with it.

I had assumed along these same lines until recently when Murphy has mentioned in more than one post that Peter isn't fond of the Archie books. So who knows...

you know I do find that odd myself when peter has said those above things...he seems to not know what he thinks some times...makes me wonder if he says things for the sake of avoiding arguments with archie lovers.:D

Just noticed this post. But am in agreement.

Though I have all of the Archie TMNT comics, would be nice to have TPBs of it (so can have the originals, which I have bagged-and-boarded, and the Trades to read when I wanted).

Edit (Add-On): As Archie has recently started doing Digests of their Sonic comic (starting with the regular series, as they had a Trade a while back doing the mini-series that began it all). What better time then to continue this routine with another of their fav' comics.

Years ago before computers, I used to write the occasional letter to Mirage, and most of the time it was Dean Clarrain who replied. So, I made the brilliant deduction that Clarrain worked at Mirage. :p

As far as Peter avoiding arguments? Ha. Doesn't look that way to me! I think sometimes he enjoys flaming people when he doesn't like what they have to say. *shrug*

I would think archie would have some rights about the series and not only mirage.
who knows, well i guess i should stick to trying to get the missing issues i need then.

Yeah, it would mostly be up to Archie to do anything with the series. But I doubt that republishing the books would be as simple as simply reprinting them. There are probably other costs involved that they would have to pay, and it's just my feeling that it's not likely for them to go through that effort.

The way they dumped the book (before it was supposed to be canceled, which is why The Forever War was never published) just makes it seem like they don't have much interest in the property. But it's been about 10 years, so who knows how things can change.
