He is also voicing a character in the CG-animated TMNT. "Harvey Weinstein called me up and wanted to know if I wanted to do a voice in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'; 'cause Weinstein has a piece of it. And I was like, 'Absolutely.' The dude that lobbied, and didn't get the part, was Jason Mewes. 'Cause Jason Mewes was like, 'What are you doing today?' I'm like, 'I'm going to do a voiceover for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' they're doing the CG cartoon.' 'What are you talking about?' I showed him the trailer, and he was like, 'Oh, I want to f**kin' be in that.' I was like, 'Well, dude, you've been in Weinstein movies; call them up, they'll put you in the picture.' And he called them mercilessly, especially after he found out I got paid to do it. He kept calling and they were like, 'We don't have anything left, dude;' they were like, 'I'm sorry.' He was like, 'Add a character;' he was like, 'Can't I be the girl turtle?' But, he just said there was something they wanted to re-voice, and they brought me in; it took maybe an hour, or something like that. But no, I want to see that movie; I lobbied to see the footage, which they finally showed me when I did a voice over."
lol its hilarious and pretty cool that Jason Mewes likes the turtles enough that he'd be a girl turtle just to be in the film

That would have been awesome to have had both Jay and Silent Bob in the movie!

Uh, if they did have Jay in TMNT, it would be sure fire straight to an R rating!

Too bad! Be funny to see him pulling the same stuff in TMNT once he discovered them like he did when he saw Alanis Morrisette's God in Dogma.

Spitfire 01-14-2007 03:18 PM

I would love to see that, they both have funny voices. They were good in the Clerks cartoon. Well Jason anyways haha Smith never talked.

I totally want to see that happen!

Of course, how do you combine "Snootchie Bootchies" and "Goongala"?

This supports my theory that Kevin Smith is only a casual fan (or just a really successful sell-out). I love his work, but he's never given any indication that he has a sentimental attachment to the Turtles. But, I'm rather glad Mewes was locked out. We don't need to feed his addictions.

What the hell is that supposed to mean. Mewes has been clean for 3 years now.

And those would be what? He was forced into Re-hab and now he doesn't do drugs anymore. Smith told him if he stayed clean he would make another Jay and Silent Bob movie.

johnnyblaze 01-15-2007 04:48 PM

yeah I think people are forgetting that he's been clean for 3 years now and he had a serious addiction before hand that Smith helped him deal with

Which was how Clerks 2 was born. And now you know the rest, of the story.

Roseangelo 01-15-2007 05:27 PM

Thank you, Paul Harvey.

Not true. Silent Bob spoke in the Safety Tips, Rainy Day Fun and Science Sez segments, and Smith also did the voice of a lesbian geisha in the baseball episode (and I think he did another voice somewhere too, but I can't seem to remember where).

Spitfire 01-17-2007 02:04 AM

Been awhile since I've seen it.
