while most of the turtles allies have gotten themselves neck deep in fending off all kinds of creatures, some have decided to take a more opportunistic appoarch to thier crusades against the shredder. as karai contines to maintain the connection to his energy. the magical fields over the city start to shrink and eventurally it disappears into thin air, along with the shredder's minions and NY's retro japanese make over - a welcomed surprised to everyone except hun. meanwhile, back the main arena, the shredder suddenly begins to recieve a considerable power boost, validating karai's explaniation that the demon is now gathering back all of his force. don notices the changes to the city and wonders if it could be the calm after the storm, only to get his answers moments later when thier nemesis spawns wings and turns into a dragon. splinter suggests his pupils tap into thier inner strength that the tribunal helped them discover, a brilliant advice that cues in and encore to the teenage mystic ninja serpents! while the city's skyline is taking a punishment in every which way a battle between 5 oversized, mystical-fire breathing ninja dragons possibly could deal, those less fortunate than having spiritual animal powers to call upon are forced to make do with what they can. karai reconnects with the shredder's energy, once again becoming a vauable asset in shutting him down, which promts a drop-in visit by the ancient evil demon who senses the threat and moves in. the turtle-dragons manage to regain his attention, but not before a minor altercation leaves stockman less than half the droid he used to be, despite chaplin's best efforts to protect him; a dragon tail whip beats mystically modified pulse riffle everytime! pulled back into the winged fight, the shredder now has to deal with karai's meddling too, as her efforts finally pay off and he forciblly reverts back to a human-like form. he runs off while under attack from the dragon-turtles, who go for the bottom line, smacking the gauntlet and helmet off the shredder and pulverizing the artifacts. don drops like a ton to deliver the knockout blow, and with the shredder down, the heroes change back to thier normal form. as if having thier purpose, the turtles amulets shatter into pieces, while their own spiritual enteries ascend to point in the sky to manifest a firey appariation of the true defender of good (hamato yoshi). the enraged shredder recongnizes him as his eternal sworn enemy, the champion vanquishes his demonic opponent. after a brief, touching moment with splinter, he promptly dissolves into the wind, offering the allies a chance to congradulate each other on a joint effort well done. the disciples are reminded of a lesson learned during thier traing earlier, and the ancient one accepts some new responsibilites that must see him part ways with the team equally emotional send-off. with all that taken care of karai puts chaplins worries about the immediate future to rest in a warmer than usual manner. while the acolytes now turn to more important issues like thier breakfast plans, as the sun finally rises over the tormented city of new york.
