Wow. I can't believe they got Lawrence Fishburne for this.

Anyway, I'm even more stoked, I just really hope they don't cut back on Mikey using his nunchuks. He's been using them in the cartoon, so theres really no reason why he shouldn't in the movie.

grrr, that had better not happen :x :x Michaelangelo's weapon of choice has always gotten discrimanted against or toned down. I'm hoping to see some really intence nunchuck action in all its whirling glory in this movie, so help me...

I never did understand why Nunchucks, two sticks on a chain, are discrimenated so much. Swords and guns aren't (not as badly), but Nunchucks are. I just don't get that or why.

Hello Kevin.
I have a question about the censorship in the UK and Ireland of the Nunchucku.

Yea it's funny... Nunchucku and the word Ninja are now Ok in the Uk...but Nunchucku are still a major nono in Norway. Can't please everyone I guess. :ohwell:

Aren't swords banned in the UK?? I read a while back that cops were confiscating the swords of any citizen...even Katana and Bat'leths.

Shark 01-27-2007 06:10 PM

I honestly don't understand what the problem with Nunchucku are. They are just two sticks on a chain. We get guns and swords in movies and such, but not Nunchucku? It makes no sense. I just don't get it.

What I always thought was funny was that in TMHT Mikey's nunchucks were replaced with a grappling hook. So to the Brits a weopon that can just simply bop somebody on the head was bad but hey he can use one that can skewer people!

Exactly, I just honestly don't get the deal with the ban on Nunchucks.

Raph'N'Roll 01-27-2007 07:33 PM

Actually the fact that the ban is in the UK, Ireland might be pretty safe from this, maybe we Irish will get the same movie as America, Nunchuks and all.

Same with NT:TNM Mikey getting tonfas. Tonfas can be just as damaging as nunchucks, even more, because you can put more force behind the blow.

I get really fed up with the UK rules against wether or not the TMNT can use there weapons. It really confuses me because they refused to show the 'Nunchuk chanllenge' in the first movie, yet they showed 'insane in the membrane' from the 2k3 series (I think that is what it was called) which wasnt in the US. Kids today are a lot tougher when it comes to blood and gore in movies, so flying nunchuks shoudent be a problem.

Yep ....along with knifes and basically any sharp objects. They have something every month or so that people can had in these objects in annoyminsly (sp). But siriously one day i fear that the ban will become so bad that i wont even be able to chop up my vegtables on my dinner plate.

I don't get why they're toing things down for the international audiences. TMNT is an American property anyway, so shouldn't the domestic audience come first? Besides, if the UK is just gonna edit the scenes out, theres no reason why the American audiences should be left out.

Your right, TMNT orginatied from America, so why should the UK demand on editing the footage?

Warhorse 01-28-2007 05:53 AM

^Good question you all. Why don't they just do two film edits. One's for the U.S., that seems to be more tolereable with weapons, as long as it's not of mass destruction, and one for the foriegners. Seems the foriegners are worried that movies may give an audience an idea to over throw corrupt government installations or something. If anyone's been taking movie to heart, than it's the government themselves. Honestly, when was the last time you saw a bank get robbed by nunchuck weilding henchmen?

Spawn Guy 01-28-2007 09:00 AM

Your all underestimating the power of UK football mums.

Kendamu 01-28-2007 09:57 AM

If it were me I'd probably have one long Michelangelo scene playing while the end credits are rolling that have him showing off with his nunchaku just to spite people. At the very worst, countries that don't like nunchaku could just edit out the video from the credits or something.

Aztec General 01-28-2007 11:01 AM

It's sad and pathetic that nunchucks can't be shown in this film. That kind of random and EXTREMELY pointless censorship always makes me VERY angry!

Nobody said that. We don't know all the details yet.

I asked Kevin to see if Mike would be using his Nunchukas in the new film. And said he was, but im not sure how much of them we will actually see.

Raph'N'Roll 01-28-2007 01:54 PM

I don't think anyone can really understand the problem censors have with Nunchuks, and yeah it pisses me off too.
If they were being used by soccer hooligans, gangs and thugs, I certainly doubt that they were inspired by TMNT or Bruce Lee.
These scum will use whatever they can get their hands on, they even use baseball bats and golf clubs, and I don't see them censoring the Masters.
