In case ya were worried the new comic would be a kidddy book
Just got this news in from a very reliable source regarding the upcoming Dreamwave TMNT comic:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Dreamwave's new TMNT book is almost guaranteed to be excellent. Pat Lee is a genius. he broke the book down to it's base characteristics: Teenage Angst Team Violence Green Things that naturally live in the water, but are up on dry land and then he took the writer with the most acclaim on all of these combined subjects. that's right, the writer of the new Turtles book is the same guy who has legendary runs on Aquaman, The Incredible Hulk, and Young Justice...Peter David. (and he's doing it because his daughters are fans and threatened to disown him)"-Grail -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Holy crap! A year ago after seeing that less than inspiring Mirage series out, I only dreamed Drewave would do for TMNT what they did for Transformers...wow. |
May I ask your source here?
Assuming this is legit, this looks AMAZING!! I'm so psyched, every new TMNT project coming out seems downright awesome :D . Although I disagree with you Beaker about Mirage Volume 4. So far I think the new storyline is kickass. I will grant you that it has not established a villian, nor has there been much action yet; but the story is very indepth, involves about 20 different returning Mirage characters, and has been rather unpredictable. I get the sense that something truly epic is going to happen before this storyline is complete. I'm certain that the action/violence we Mirage fans are used to will be present before too long. |
Well If it will truly be a non kiddy comic, I am happy. (A new thread about this So I repeat myselffor th 50:th time) I enjoy both Amazing Spider-man and Ultimate Spider-man, If the new TMNT comic is going to be like that, It would be a dream come true.
If we are lucky enough, Soo we will have 3 TMNT comic books, Volume 4, Tales of TMNT volume 2, and The Dreamwave... What more could we ask for?(Of course success for the cartoon) |
Yeah Karpo I agree. If this is true, than within 3 months or so there will be 3 high quality TMNT comics. That is downright amazing. It's hard to believe, and to think after Image's TMNT failed, I thought a TMNT comic would be a fond memory.

Well It is possible becase the Volume 4 is selling so well. Let's hope that it will for many years to come.

Yes, this news is very legit. Or as he put it 'straight fromt he horse's mouth'. There is no way you would see, in this day in age, Dreamwave resort to some Archie type comic. Not sure who reported that, but Dreamwave only puts out the highest quality on the market.
As for the current Mirage title, I was remarking how IMHO it doesnt inspire me, or dazzle me like how Im assuming this Dreamwave title will. The latest issue of the Mirage TMNT was just really...less than stellar art wise. I cant see how that title will appeal to anyone but th emost hardcore of 85' era TMNT buffs. The TMNT deserve something very high production, slick and edgy visually, and action wise...Dreamwave is gonna be th eones to deliver. |

I belive it can be a good series, But I will never belive it ill surpass the Mirage.
And Rat King, I use MidTown comics too! It is the best online shop for new comics. |
does anyone know if the comics will be released in canada too? if so, will they be released at the same time as in the USA or later?
if i find them and they interest i'm sure i'll get hooked  |
