Does anybody know where I can download the TMNT arcade game?

None of the websites I was given work. I tried downloading the emulator and rom from Raphael's Ninja Turtles Domain. But, the rom does not work. I need help. Please, help.

Karpo_007 01-19-2003 02:32 AM

What do you mean "the rom doesn't work" ?

Raph 01-19-2003 06:56 AM

You need to keep the rom his zipfile
In the emulator is a folder named roms, place the file there

then he should see it and you can run it without any trouble, some instuctions might appear on the screen but they should me easy

Actually, that's not true. The first time I downloaded ROMs off Kazaa they were in a pack called "GREATEST ARCADE ROMS" or something like that. When I unpacked them, they came out as folders under the ROMs directory.

Besides, even the official site for MAME says "preferably zipped" rather than having to be zipped. Having them zipped just makes it easier to move and manage them, and to be honest it conserves space.

ninjaturtles 01-19-2003 01:54 PM

I think I tried doing that. But, could you be a little more specific? So, okay this what I did:

I downloaded the emulator and put in a folder called tmntfiles, which I created. Then I downloaded the rom and called it his zipfile. But, it did not work.

The emulation says it doesn't work. Because, it's missing all of these rom files:
tmntu: 963-r23
tmntu: 963-r24
tmntu: 963-r21
tmntu: 963-r22
tmntu: 963-e20
tmntu: 963-a28
tmntu: 963-a29
tmntu: 963-a17
tmntu: 963-a18
tmntu: 963-a15
tmntu: 963-a16
tmntu: 963-a30
tmntu: 963-a31
tmntu: 963-a26
tmntu: 963-a27
tmntu: 963-a25

Can you please help?

Thanks,
Daniel

If the file is in right folder, It sounds to me that you are missing the parent rom. Sorry I can't remember wich one that is.

Reznorite420 01-19-2003 06:06 PM

Either that or he couldn't understand Raph's garbled English (no offense, dude)...

He meant: there's a folder in the MAME directory called "roms". Simply place the zip file in that folder, and if you're using MAME32 it should appear on the list of games without a red mark over it (as in the red circle with the diagonal line). If not, press the F5 key, it should appear then. Also, like Karpo said, make sure you have at least the parent ROM before you play and that it has the correct filename. In this case the parent ROM is the World version, and its filename is tmnt.zip.

I hope that cleared things up.

Where is the MAME directory? I can't locate it in the Raph's Ninja Turtles Domain site. All I can find is the emulator and rom. What MAME/MAME2K directory are you talking about?

Reznorite420 01-19-2003 08:23 PM

The one on your computer, whatever the folder MAME is under on your computer.

On mine it's C:\mame, but it all depends on where YOU put it on YOUR computer.

As Ive said on here, to have access to virtually EVERY non 3d game from 1972 to 2002: simply go to www.mame.dk
Register, log in with your new password, and voila! First download the brand new mame32 for windows. Then simply type in any game youve ever wanted. Its insane, 3000+ arcade games froma ll over the world.

So yes, type in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and behold the glory of both TMNT arcade games.

ninjaturtles 01-26-2003 09:25 PM

I had gone to the MAME2K site and I had downloaded the emulator that you told me about. But, I can not find the rom on the site. I mean, I had found the game, but I was not able to download it.

Reznorite420 01-26-2003 09:32 PM

Have you registered?

ninjaturtles 01-30-2003 12:36 AM

Yes, I have registered. It is just my email account is wrong, and I do not know how to fix it. I have my password and I got that down okay. But, the email account is wrong.

I downloaded this MAME player too and the TMNT game. Whenever I try to play the game, the words Mask Rom Check pop up and it stays on that. What the hell does that mean?

ninjaturtles 02-01-2003 08:25 PM

I did it! I did it! I have the arcade game. And, I played it.

Too bad it is really slow and really hard to play.

Dark Helmet 02-01-2003 11:11 PM

I could use some help downloading the game myself. I know you can get the emulators on Mame, but you also need the ROMs and I thought Mame doesn't have them. Could someone please help me out because I'm used to using a piece of **** Dreamcast for the Internet where you couldn't do things like "download" or even post on this message board for that matter. I'm now using a PC and want to look into it. Is there any system requirements? Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

That means you should go to mame.dk, register, download the latest version of MAME, get the parent ROM and at least the Oceania version, and VOILA!
