Season 1 Set, Not Exactly...

Amazon.com has a listing for this DVD, and seems it's Season 1 Part 1! Like recent releases, looks like Funimation is starting TMNT's re-release with a 2-Disc/12-episode routine.

Kendamu 02-28-2007 09:39 AM

How much is it?

EDIT: $12. http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

And, I thought they finally quit ignoring the demand for FULL SEASON SETS... What retards...

Kendamu 02-28-2007 10:38 AM

At least Lion's Gate finally got it right.

Masked Ninja 02-28-2007 11:32 AM

A little disappointing, but much better than the three-episode discs they had. The list price is $17, but Walmart and even Best Buy don't sell them at list price. Not bad at all... I suppose the annoying part is waiting for the second half to come out.

Kendamu 02-28-2007 12:12 PM

I got the three-episode singles on eBay of those episodes for about the same price recently so now there's nothing in it for me until the second set comes out.

gobo 02-28-2007 12:13 PM

The really bad thing about this is the people who were on the fence about whether or not they wanted to spend more money on episodes they already paid an arm and a leg to buy have hopped down to the "F this" side. This release will only serve to introduce a new audience to the cartoons. And, assuming they're trying to keep in line with the two previous 2-disc sets (so they never have to rerelease the eps on that Season Four set), the next Season Four set will be devastatingly out of order, and we can forget about ever getting extras again. :flaming:

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!

See? I was right. Pure bullsh*t.

Spike Spiegel 02-28-2007 01:25 PM

I hate this!

But I love this!

I don't really know what to make of this.

kerfootw 02-28-2007 01:54 PM

This is pretty lame. But it does make a bit of sense in the fact that they're going 12 and 14 episodes to justify for the DVD titled "Season 4" having the last 14.

Sonic777 02-28-2007 02:04 PM

Great,just great.
Why did they haft to start this fad.
What,arn't boxsets not good enough.
This stinks.

VaughnMichael 02-28-2007 02:58 PM

yeah I'll be skipping this...

Leonardo_Warrior_Turtle 02-28-2007 03:03 PM

I figured they would do this after seeing the Season 4 and Fast Forward DVD releases. Oh well. Like someone said earlier, better than the 3 or 4 episode releases we have been getting.

Exactly. What's the point of only releasing half seasons at a time -- making us wait longer and pay more taxes in the process? At this rate, it'll take four years to get the entire damn series on DVD.

Kendamu 02-28-2007 03:48 PM

I'll start getting these when the second half of season 1 is released and forward provided I can't get the singles of the same episodes for less on eBay.

ThemanthatwouldbeRaphael 02-28-2007 05:24 PM

Sorry to say this but: **** that.

I'm not buying another TMNT DVD till they get they're **** together.

(Yes, I know the DVDs need to sell so we can get more, but I'm pissed here people)

kerfootw 02-28-2007 05:55 PM

Anybody know how to get in contact with a 4Kids or Funimation representative about this? I already e-mailed ninjaturtles.com about the subject.

gobo 02-28-2007 06:08 PM

Goongasnootch would know. He submitted info to NinjaTurtles.com a week ago about a Funimation representative telling him that the plan was for it to be 26 eps, but Funimation has no say over it since they're only distributors.

Bah...It won't make a damn bit of difference. They haven't changed their act since they began releasing these stupid DVDs in 2003, and I doubt they'll change anytime soon.
