Only read if you have seen all of season 5

with the way that season 5 was, all that had happened and and the way it ended...is it possible for the turtles to go back to the way it used to be and fight karai and bishop and the purple dragons? it seems like they are capable of so much more even without their mystic powers. i wish they came up with a more creative way to portray the turtles in season six instead of some futuristic type deal. if they were going to give them a new look i atleast think it should have some depth and meaning. i feel like Fast forward is taking a page out of what the power rangers show does by changing powers or what the show is called each season..its pathetic. all in all if the season ended after 5 i would be completely happy with the way the turtles were portrayed and how the whole series played out. what do you guys think?

They don't have their medallions anymore. At the end of the episode you see the Turtles without them. The medallions served their purpose, so any future seasons will not have them. I assume...

With the knowledge that Bishop became a good guy and president of the United Federation of Planets, I don't think they'd fight him again.

As for the Medalions.
Spoiler:
After Master Yoshi saved the day the medalions were destroyed.

invictus1002 03-12-2007 08:34 PM

i understand that the medallions are gone and so are the mystic powers..i was stating that since they have been through all the tasks is season 5, that all the other enemies seem as though they wouldnt be much of a challenge. sorry if i didnt clarify

Well just as I thought the Shredder was too much for them, someone comes and kicks their asses harder then he does. That being Bishop. If the show continues (which I hope to god it does,) and they go home, I'm sure Bishop will still be up to some tricks. Someone else could also come into play that's even worse then Shredder and Bishop. In anycase I think that they still have a lot to learn.

things I found interesting:

Spoiler:
Nano is now with the Justice Force.

Baxter continues to live as a robotic skeleton.

Karai is expecting the tengu Shredder, and thinks she can beat him.

Chaplin's put on some weight.

Hun's voice isn't pitched up again (like in the >> ep, "The Journal").

The human acolytes show up to help (they aren't sure how either).

The Tribunal shows up to rub it in (that they're reckless, uncaring bastards).

The Ancient One now fills the fifth seat at the Lap of the Gods.

Spoiler:
Ok, I've gotta ask: Does anyone else feel that the reason that the Lost Season was lost and >> was offered in it's place is because the LS is the perfect capstone for the series and anything else would feel anti-climatic, much like >> does even with the LS, "lost". Just my thought. I think that the LS was scrapped if only because those behind TMNT weren't sure how they could go on with quality that could rival or even surpass the LS.

So, what do you think? Opinions.

EDIT: Gee....I guess I could have just said "I agree with invictus1002." But I guess I also expound upon his point too...so...yeah

Spoiler:
It's hard to determine when we've seen finality before. "Exodus" also brought closure to the Turtle's war with the longest running Shredder, and this simply ended The Shredder's dynasty of hatred once and for all with the defeat of the original, with Karai finding someone in her life and moving on. The comics have proven that the TMNT's lives as characters are very organic, like all superheroes, they move on, and encourage the viewer and reader to follow them, long after their enemies are defeated

This is television though, and the closest we got to "organic realism" was the fourth season, until Karai donned the mantle of The Shredder, then we learned of the real one, and that gave the writers the excuse to include him all over again so they could have another season with the show's top drawing villain. FF also gives them an excuse to work around not using him, but what if they have to go back when they resume the present day series?

That is the challenge, but since they minmised the role in the fourth season, and there's a little thing called "alternate realities" out there, it's not that hard, but for now, and with 4Kids heavy censoring, FF was probably the best option and definition of a "rest" as far as thinking ahead for what to do next goes

Jester 03-13-2007 12:32 AM

Maybe >> is an attempt to see how the TMNT, in an animated form can survive sans Shred-head as the prime baddy.

ZariusTwo 03-13-2007 12:35 AM

Well that's really the point, they were doing fine in the present day without using him before "Scion of the Shredder" reintroduced the character

Jester 03-13-2007 12:43 AM

True, but has the TMNT gone a whole season with no Shredder? (heck he's shown up, be it minimally in >>)

ThemanthatwouldbeRaphael 03-13-2007 01:14 AM

Actually, I've been thinking about that. Can they have a season without Shredder at all. And they can, they just need to push Bishop into focus.

I think at this point, people have seen enough of Shredder. And with the Tengu Shredder angle and
Spoiler:
Karai going straight at the end
, there really isn't anything else they can do with Shredder.

I think they should go for one more season. Make it entirley Shredder-less. Not even an honorable mention except at the very end. Just to prove they can be good without him.

The use of Japanese Super Sentai footage generally necessitates that PR does that each year.

Spoiler:
karai going straight do you mean like not lesbian? i mean i saw the lost season but i am unaware of karai's sexual preference i just assumed she was straight already

Kunoichi_Haruko 03-13-2007 01:40 PM

Spoiler:

Gotta love that gay-bashing right-winged media education:lol:

Spitfire 03-14-2007 01:32 AM

Wow, just wow. I got a bit scared with all the energy battling crap they did and the Ghost Busters references but all in all it was pretty bad ass.

Zombies! Just wow, if this makes it on TV I'll be surprised. Hun's voice pissed me off to no end and the Nano episode was un-needed but I'm glad they made his character less annoying.

The backgrounds in some scenes you could tell they took some budget cuts but the animation as a whole was great. I liked it a lot. They ended it, I don't see where else it could possibly go from there. If that wasn't an ending I don't know what is.

If they some how continue it *I'm assuming FF is what happened after this season that was made pretty clear* then I guess the TMNT lost their powers when their amulets were broken.

All in all I'm impressed, I thought it was going to be too animey but it kept it close enough to core content, and **** was it dark. I don't see them airing this on TV...

If the series goes on one story arc I could see them doing is Shredder's evil Tengu power Karai channeled coming back through her and causing problems. And unless they did that right I don't see it being to interesting so let's hope they avoid that path.
