I finally struck Ebay gold. Expensive but I can afford so why the hell not. I've ALWAYS wanted the old issues but having them was never in my sights. I can't wait to have these in my hands so I can read them all.

I'm glad you point that out I totally forgot they sold the older comics. When my bank account heals I will totally go for that.

Not to be a jerk, but that averages to $8 an issue. I completed most of my collection in a week paying 1.50-4 an issue. Sure I payed up to $10 for very few and $30 for an autographed copy of 3 signed. I guess if you have money to burn this is an easy way to get them all in one shot, but with very little looking you could have saved 2/3rds of that money.

I don't have the time and patience to scout around Ebay looking for every issue. Since not a single comic store around me carries any old TMNT comics*I've looked at everyone* that's out of the question. It's alot but I figure with shipping costs on every auction*Which is on average 4 to 5 bucks even just for one thing* I saved some cash. Plus I had a fat over nighter check I just got recently so I won't notice the hit.

Nice, I have spent quite a bit of money myself collecting lots of vol 1, plus multiple graphic novel reprints. Enjoy those books ;)

very nice find and grab there Spit. I know you said you tried every comic shop, but just outta curiousity, have you ever tried a convention? or are any every held near you?. Was just wondering, cause thats where ive gotten most of mine and im only missing i think 7 issues.

But as i said, good find, espicially considering that the #3 & 4 that you got are worth about $60-75 bucks each.

I got a large percentage of my collection at conventions, too. But the great majority of my collection was acquired in the mid- and late-90s, when interest in TMNT was waning, and prices were low (lots and lots of quarter boxes finds). I also had great luck in finding the more obscure/rare books at conventions (all of the Creed variations, for instance). I don't know how much luck you'd have right now with this approach; the movie has really resparked interest and (IMO) inflated prices.

You really need to go to the small, local shows to have any luck, though. Comic books are actually becoming hard to find at the large conventions now.

I went to one convention in San Diego one year with my Dad. But I was like 6. Other then that there are no conventions that are held near me. I'd have to drive 6 to 7 hours and since I don't drive and have no friends interested in comics it would be outa the question. Plus I talked to Put. and he said the ones he went to the last few times had no TMNT comics.

#3 worth cash? I have a 1st print of it someone bought me for Christmas one year. It's mint too. Since I'll have 2 I guess I'll sell one.

Yup, and if you had them professionally graded(for about 25 bucks a comic) it could just about double its value.

#3 in mint cond. is worth $65. NearMint is 50. and if you had it prof. graded it could be worth up to $100(NM) and $650(mint) give or take a bit.

Its not the best online price listing site, but i have found most of their prices for TMNT to be roughly what i see at conventions. So with their site, it wouldnt hurt to give or take just a little on some of the prices.
