Would you want Peter Laird to post here?
We've had people like Kevin Munroe, Steve Murphy and several other TMNT artists/writers from the comics appearing on the forums over the past several months.
Would you enjoy a "dialouge" with Peter Laird, on all things considered Volume 4, TMNT: Fast Forward, a possible movie sequal, and everything inbetween? |
umm... YEAH!
|
Yes! As Mikey would say, that would be beyond awesome!:D :)
|
That would be cool to chat with the creator of our fascination.

Who wouldn't?

I guess I can understand that. Murphy hasn't really come around ever since the novelization got dissed-- or have I just not been seeing him?
|
No one's been around here since the movie started getting into full swing. Now that the film is out, it'd be a positive madhouse at Mirage, given it is still just a small company (comparatively at least). I can understand why he wouldn't want to post here, or anywhere for that matter. People have said some pretty awful things about him here, and I'm pretty sure there'd be a massive about face of slanderers (I know, "if it's print - it's libel") acting as though they'd never said a word. Alternately, I wouldn't want the possibility of being bombarded with nasty comments by those who aren't happy with the way he's done things in the book. And can you imagine how tiresome answering "When is vol.4 going to continue?" would get?

No.
The guy has a very, very thin skin and reacts to constructive criticism with all the tact and elegance of a middle schooler. If his reaction to even the most softly critical fans in the Vol. 4 letters pages is any indication, any sort of discussion with him would end up as follows: Fan: "I am enjoying Vol. 4 for the most part, but I feel its going a bit slow." Laird: "If you don't like it, don't read it." Fan: "The new movie was fun, though I felt the fights were too short." Laird: "If you don't like it, don't watch it." Fan: "I really liked the new cartoon, though Fast Forward isn't so great." Laird: "If you don't like it, don't watch it." I don't think we'd get much out of him. |
I agree that it wouldn't be a good idea for him to post here (although at one point he was reading here).
I do wish he'd post something somewhere, though. Does it strike anyone else as odd that Kevin Eastman has had more to say about the new movie than Peter has, and Peter was deeply involved in the whole process of making the movie? |
I would definately like it if Laird posted regular updates on the Official Website or something to that effect. The best/only-good part of the Vol. 4 lettes page was reading the little tidbits of future events and updates Laird would drop here and there.
I think him communicating more with the fandom/public would be great. Him interacting with them? Not so much. |
Yeah, I liked when he was posting "Blast from the Past," too.
|
Indeed, it could be a mixed blessing having him post here. I'd love it, but I'd also hate to get on the bad side of one of the guys who created the guys.
How much does, say George Lucus interact with fans via the net? |
although you gotta admit...if this communication turns out to be a major disaster, it would be extremely hilarious.

What did Kevin Eastman say about the new movie? Link, perhaps?
