Here's some food for thought...
What if Mr. Laird had sold his share and Mr. Eastman kept his? How do you all think things would have turned out? Just your thoughts.

We'd have less sci-fi and more "City at War" type stories, that's for sure.
- Volume 4 would obviously be written completely different. - The new cartoon would have probably been more or less the same, but Kevin doesn't seem to be as strict as Peter does when it comes to what they can do and what they can't. I don't think he's as against the old cartoon characters as Peter was. - The new movie may have turned out completely different since Kevin may not have gone with Kevin Munroe for director/writer. |

This is kinda weird, but how can you SELL your share of something you created? I mean, no matter what, nothing changes the fact that Eastman had a hand in the creation of the TMNT. Does that mean that if he ever decides to draw a short TMNT story, he'd had to pay Peter something? For drawing his own creations?? For me it sounds a lil sad these guys parted ways, so to speak.

Kevin Eastman sold all his rights to Mirage as well, he's no longer a part of the company.
That being said I do think he still gets royalties from the Turtles. But if Kevin Eastman wanted to do a Turtle comic, he'd have to get permission from Peter first. I think it would be nice to see Kevin Eastman do a future issue of Tales someday, I'm sure Peter Laird would allow it after he "approves" of whatever story he wants to do. |
More action, more violence, better plots, less character development.

The movie would have been very different, even with Munroe. I'm also thinkin Eastman wouldn't have put up with WB's PG crap.
