Original Series In-Store Displays

I just won an auction for this Wacky Action display sign from the Original Series. Think I got a purdy good deal too :D . It got me to thinking that I don't remember anything about the store displays back then, probably since my parents did most of the actual buying. Is anybody else holding onto items like this, I'd love to know more.

Yea that is a pretty neat find...I'm sure theres other displays out there (for instance at least small ones like the display that held the cans of ooze)...but good job there..:)

I saw that, I didn't bid because it looked so plain, though I'm glad you like it, that is a great deal for what it is.

I have some old motu displays that are really awesome, they're made of plastic and the characters pop out in 3d, I got them for free since my old boss was going to toss them.

Now that I think about it I'm not so sure it was only a store display, could have been a banner at toyfair or something.

Congrats. I remember I used to have the don fig from the display.

I was sort of wondering that about this item too. I just assumed that it was a store display, but since I know nothing about them, it could easily be from a convention or some other marketing tool. I would totally read a whole book on the subject if someone wrote it.

Oh... and I don't suppose the MOTU displays might ever come up for sale? I'd be interested if they were still in good shape.

It's in ok condition, definitely still displayable, but not perfect, I think that's because the way they were made though, as 3d pop out plastic pieces, they didn't have the best quality control or something. I'll try and take some pictures.

Not an original series sign, but a sign non the less. Picked it up at work today, manager was changing endcaps and such and saw that he was gonna toss it.

Hehe... "snipe" indeed. Good work man. That looks like a sweet MOTU sign underneath that, eh? Too bad the TMNT one doesn't show pics of the actual figs.

Yeah thats a MOTU sign behind it, has both Spin Blade He-man and Skeletor on it.
