The "Coming Out Of Our Shells Tour"

Did anyone here{besides myself} go to see it when it was running{'90-91}?
Let me know,I'd like more info on it{how long it lasted, ticket sales,etc.}.
Also, does anyone have the COOOS video or album? Let me know, thanks!

OrokuSaki's#1Fan 01-28-2003 03:28 PM

anyone? :-?

OrokuSaki's#1Fan 01-28-2003 04:36 PM

C'mon guys! Somebody'd gotta know what I'm talking about! :-?

azure turtle 01-28-2003 04:40 PM

Yes, I know what you're talking about. I've got the COOTS ablum, but I never attended the actual concert. I wish I did when it came through my town... As a kid, I would've probably gotten a kick out of it.

OrokuSaki's#1Fan 01-28-2003 04:52 PM

Yeah,it was great. Human Foot Soldiers were shown sneaking around the parking lot on video screens,Splinter gave us morals to think about, and Shredder put "records" in a special machine, then "turning them" into confetti that came out in the crowd! Very similar to the first movie in design,it was great to see! How long did it last? Does anyone know? :-?

Psycrow 01-28-2003 05:47 PM

I was on a Vacation if I remember correctly in the States, so I was lucky enough to go see it! (the "Coming Out of Their Shells" tour didn't come to Canada, if I remember correctly).

But I don't recall the actual length of it though, sorry.

Ah yes, the COOTS tour. I remember that. It was definatey awesome! I've got the video, but not the album. I remember having the program, a blue bandana like Leonardo's, and a COOTS cap that i used to wear all the time, but they've been lost over the years. As for technical aspects like ticket sales and such, I'm afraid I can't help you.

 I have seen the video, it is beyond dorky. I laughed at it the entire time. The Turtles did a lot of milling around on the stage, and Mike must have said "Thank You, We Love You!" 20 times. Splinter's head was about 5 times it's normal size, and his Japanese voice changed into an epic Neil Diamond type voice while he sang. Shredder looked like a Ronin Warrior, and Baxter Stockman was on the brink of turning into Richard Simmons.

 All true statements. I forgot Baxter was there! :( Yeah,he definitely was way too "Richard Simmons-like"!

COOTS

Yeah I saw it at Six Flags in Dallas in July 1991...it was cool. I think it was the Coming Out of our Shells Tour, they sang one song with a line like 'we're comin' out of our shells...' so it must have been it. It was a neat little program, I don't remember much of it now. The ending song was catchy, something about 'we'll always be there for you'

Heh...yeah right :D

Six Flags is in Arlington, not Dallas. I just remembered that Shredder spent about 20 minutes insulting 5 year olds who were sitting in the front row.

I never saw the show. I was kinda an "in my world" fan back then, and didn't go out and do things like that. But I was luckly enough to have a friend burn me the album awhile ago, and I love listening to it. (Just wish she'd included "Follow Your Heart" with it.)

I have the video, It's really REALLY bad! Whoever filmed it did a lousy job! I've never seen the live tour, but one thing(again...) the video... It definitely blows !

I see...all I remember was that it wasn't TERRIBLY far from the Fort Worth/Dallas area. I don't remember how far we drove to get there, I was only 8. I did see the show. :D

I remember he told some kid's mom "How would like a one way ticket to my Technodrome!" And what was the deal with the clothes the Turtles had on, were they supposed to be homosexual?

Oh, let's please not go there again. They were supposed to look like over the top rock stars. I know several homosexuals and NONE of them would ever dress like that unless it was Halloween, and some not even then.

I was being sarcastic.

Okay. Sorry, but we've had past incidents of those remarks in a totally serious manner. Even as a joke, some people still take offense to it.

Reznorite420 01-29-2003 10:19 PM

Oh God, not the COOTS tour!

It did come to my city of San Antonio during that time, but I can remember feeling, "I might be a fan of TMNT, but not THAT much!"
