Soft head vs Hard head
Just wondering which version of the turtles you guys prefer. The soft headed ones or the hard ones?
Many of my friends prefer the soft headed ones but I on the other hand find the hard headed ones better. I think the ones with hard head fit better with the rest of the toyline as opposed to the soft headed ones that were only produced for the first series of figures ( correct me if I am wrong here please). I guess my question really is what is it about the soft heads that people like better huh? |

I do think however that the hard heads have better sculpts and if you're displaying loose figures, they definetely look better next to the other figs. In the end, I just got sets of both. MWHAHAHAHAHA!! |
I never seen the soft headed version. Is it made of rubber so you can squish it like a rubber duck and it goes *squeak!* ?
|
Eh, blow off the soft heads and go for pop-ups. You get more for your buck and besides many pop-up figs have soft heads anyway.

They are like the heads from the Masters of the Universe line.;) |
Mike, you got turtle fever!
I've seen you around the he-man forums. Nice sig dude. Anyway I prefer soft head for MOC, because there's nothing like knowing you have the very first turtles action figures ever made. But for loose the hard head definitely holds up better, if you squish the soft head too much it'll crease and some paint will chip. |

I've seen you there too buddy! :) Well I am not much of a MOC collector as I prefer to display my figs loose. So the way to go would have to be with the hard heads then. If you have both types of turtles (soft and Hard heads) next to each other can you be able to tell the difference just by looking at them? |
I just got my first taste of the soft-heads today. I bought a large lot on ebay and when they arrived today there was a soft-head Shredder, Splinter, and Mikey in there. I was pretty pumped. I put the Shredder and Splinter in my display, but Mikey went in a case.

Alright!! Thank you so much for the pics Raphsation.:)
They are not that different but the difference is definitely there. I can totally see it thanks to you. I can see that Soft Mikey has a smaller head. |
The soft heads are better of course, for collectors. For kids: hard heads. As a kid, my soft head Raph had a permanently-squished-in head which annoyed the heck out of me.
And speaking of pop-ups, does anyone have a complete list of every figure that came with one (in particular Krang, Foot Soldier or April)? I want to know if I have a complete set or not! |
Ive never had the hard head ones, only the soft heads. And much like MoTU, I prefered the soft heads. I think it was only because I was so used to the soft ones, but the hard heads always looked a little weird to me.

Ok I have to clear something out. A friend of mine told me that he had a soft headed Slash. I told him what I knew about the subject but he is swears that he did. But I haven't heard of anyone else with one.
Has anyone else heard about a Soft Slash? |

And to stay on subject..Slash doesn't exist with a soft head. This was only in the first run of figures, and Slash wasn't in that set. |
