Season 7 is great!

I've seen a few of you talk about how good this season was, but I didn't take you seriously. The writers actually put some thought into these episodes, they were still your garden variety stand alone TMNT episodes, but still a breath of fresh air. The animation is great, the art design is good and far more consistent, the lip syncing is great, and they ACTUALLY FIGHT. My personal favorite eps so far are, Night of the Dark Turtle, Night of the Rouges, Dirk Savage Mutant Hunter, and The Legend of Koji (any other really good ones?). Alot of them are up on youtube now.

season 7 is great! My fav episode from that season is Night of the Dark Turtle. Donatello is so badass in that one :D It was nice to see him as the star!

MrPliggins 07-19-2007 06:49 PM

I like Night of the Dark Turtle, The Legend of Koji (one of my favorites of the entire series), and White Belt, Black Heart. I don't really care for Night of the Rogues because it seems very contrived and an excuse to put all these characters into one episode. Why would some of these characters even want money? Scumbug and Antrax were cool to see animated though..

Season 7 was fantastic, it makes me really wish the entire show was like that. Season 8 is good too, but it only has 8 episodes.

Night of the Rouges wasn't that bad. The main reason I liked it was beacause of Slash and Casey. But there was some actual friction between the Raph and the other turtles, it wasn't very fleshed out but it was good to see in an OT episode.

I will have to totally agree with you. I enjoyed those episodes quite a bit. My favorite was "The Legend of Koji". But I like the fact that Tokka and Rahzar showed up in "Night of the Rogues". However, "White Belt, Black Heart" was not in ThouCylinder, so I have not watched it. Haven't read a synopsis for it either.

Time Mistress 07-19-2007 09:26 PM

I don't remember seeing much of OT season 7 when it originally aired. My TMNT love was starting to go on hiatus at that point in favor of Star Trek and X-Men. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can finally catch up on the eps I missed. What season are we up to now on DVD? I'm behind in my OT DVD collecting and have lost track.

Yeah and it gets better from there leading into Red Sky which has, Continuity! OH MY GOD!

man I really love season seven. I wish that it had been longer than just fourteen episodes. Its the first really substantial and fleshed out season of the OT since the first season. I really season seven was finnally doing the OT TMNT thing right with all the right elements meshed together. I would have liked the tone of season seven to be carried on in other seasons. I haven't seen red Sky in like for ever and I didn't like it very much when it first aired. But when it comes out on dvd I'm going to give it another shot and see if I like it now that I'm older and more mature to appriciate a more serious version on the turtles.

But Donatello was always the star in the OT. He was the one that came up with the plan to deal with every delima the turtles came across.

Scandia 07-20-2007 05:16 AM

My bad. I am not a night person. I had come from a full late shift at work. You are correct. Night of the rogues was the one featuring Casey Jones.

And I do agree that the OT is quite Donatello centric, not just Michelangelo centric like it has been stated to be. Donnie does quite a few inventions. Donnie is featured in quite a few episodes- not just those mentioning his name. Donnie and his machines save the day quite often. He certainly did NOT get the shaft.

Season 5 hits shelves August 7th, same as the movie and and Fast Forward's volume 2.

ToTheNines 07-20-2007 09:29 AM

Something just hit me, I really really frickin hope that The Lost Season/European Vacation is not released until after season 7 atleast. I really wouldn't mind if they never released them at all, don't think I'd but it anyways.

gobo 07-20-2007 09:38 AM

Note to Lion's Gate: Put the Euro Cruise eps on the season 7 collection if you want them to sell.

;P

ToTheNines 07-20-2007 09:48 AM

Lol, yep thats probably the only way I'm buying E.V. unless I inherit like 6 figures.

SassyGal 07-20-2007 04:43 PM

aw, come on guys!! the european vacation eps are the best!!! (note sarcasm inserted here ;) )

I think they are funny just for the outrageous plots!! I mean, let's destroy the ozone layer so we can take over a flooded planet!! (Real Snow Job) or make the people of earth tremble at our power to rust all of Paris! (Rust Never Sleeps). Seriously, most hilarious plots ever!!

Remember Venice on the Half Shell? Those rays that were supposed to flood Venice started bringing statues to life... geeze

Anyways, does anyone have any idea as to why they increased the quality so much for season 7?

Scandia 07-20-2007 05:35 PM

I don't know. I have watched the European Vacation sideseason almost in its entirety thanks to a certain website. But Season 7 has been fantastic. Perhaps they got a surprise increase in the budget due to the third movie.

Just a shot in the dark, but I'd guess it was in response to the shameful Euro-Cruise eps being dusted off and broadcast by USA Networks.

So, that's why they didn't spend more than a couple bucks on Turtles III? Thanks for clearing that up for me. :goof:
