Slash on new tmnt?

Will slash be on the tmnt show do you think or comics?

Anarchistguy 02-05-2003 08:49 PM

It's VERY unlikely!!!

Mondo_Gecko 02-05-2003 09:07 PM

I hope Slash would be in the new show. That woiuld be so cool. It makes me sad that all the characters i know and love from my childhood and the cartoon would be gone forever with this new show. Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Slash, The Frogs, Mondo Gecko, Baxter as a fly, April being a reporter.

I really hope they have mutants. People or animals turning into mutants was the best. I always loved the origin story's i think that was one of my fav parts seeing how all the mutants become how they are and how they got mutated. It be kind of sad for me if was just the Turtles and Splinter.

I remember all those characters from my childhood, but even growing up I got a little tired of seeing the bad guys loose all the time. I would have liked to see Bebop & Rocksteady have been a little more dangerous & a little less stupid (intilectually that is). I honestly think they had the combined IQ of a slice of toast. I think the only time the two of them actually posed a temporary threat was one of the earlier episodes when Rocksteady always wore his helmet & goggles. All those characters were cool, but basically exist in an alternate universe then the one that is currently be constructed out of the new show.

YEAH, mutants kick ass. If not on the cartoon, then in the toyline. I mean, the old toyline had a whole crapload of non-cartoon characters made into action figures & they sold well. If they hadn't have sold well, then Playmates would have stopped making them at the start.
I always enjoyed the origin story's too, they kicked ass. I was disapointed one time, when Shredder mutated some bugs into giant bugs & none of them were Needlenose or Killer Bee. :X

This new show is more like the original comic book stuff, which isn't a bad thing. Lots of cool, crazy crap happened in the original comics. In this new show, since mutagen doesn't exist & thus isn't the stuff that can magically make a mutant in seconds, I think we'd see more once-animal-now-humanoid mutants in the show.

Like, the turtles weren't the only mutant animals in the comic book- Leatherhead was created by the Utroms aswell, so it's possible the toyline could make up some story to have other animals the utroms mutated.

Hey, if they can make variant figures fit into the story, they should have no problem with new characters.

Basically, I wanna see mutant animal action figures, alien action figures, robot action figures & ninja action figures in this new line. If it's going to be like the 80's comic book, then it should have alla that stuff in the toyline too.

Or at least a new in-scale Leatherhead figure. If we can get that, I'll be able to die a quasi-happy snailman. :D

Yes and I want Venus Damn it!

The origin of the First cartoon was changed only beacuse the original origin was too violent for TV. I wonder how they are going to do it this time.

PWDESAI 02-06-2003 07:57 AM

Well karpo, I think that the parents are as strongly opinionated as they once were, I mean with shows like simpsons and south park.

And if you check out cartoon network, I think they can get away with a lot, there seems to be blood in powerpuff girls, and once i even heard butter cup swear... I think there was another show were they would swear and i was totally confused that they woudl do it in a cartoon.

Anyways, times have changed, and i think tmnt will be let by with a little more this time around.

splint 02-06-2003 08:00 AM

what was so bad about the original origin?

R-iZZy 02-06-2003 08:06 AM

Yeah? Oh... from Shredder murdering Hamato Yoshi and his love with the swipe of a sword. I think that is kinda violent... but isn't that what the kids want nowadays? It's not like families can sue for making the ninja turtles violent.

Karpo_007 02-06-2003 08:16 AM

It probably won't be very graphical. It seems we have to wait until episode 10 to find out.

heretic888 02-06-2003 08:37 AM

heh

xZAOx 02-06-2003 10:09 AM

And the ooze was changed into mutagen, so that there would be more mutants (read: toys).

Karpo_007 02-06-2003 11:55 AM

Well the name of ooze didn't really matter, but it is clear that because of Toys the show had so many random mutants in it.

You say it like it's a bad thing?
I always liked mutant toys, but having a whole crap load of them in the new toon wouldn't fit with the storyline. But that doesn't mean we can't get aliens & robot stuff instead!

The cartoon shows are always my second concern, the toylines are always #1 priority on my list. All I want is cool toys, a decent blend of human/non-human figures. Playmates, just go to Peter Laird's "Blast from the Past" site, he's got a cripe-load of good ideas for stuff. :D

That & I'd like to see that Snailman figure be made. Hey, it wouldn't even have to be a mutant- that thing could easily pass for a Snail-like Alien.

Karpo_007 02-06-2003 01:26 PM

Well the new show wont have endless ammount of random mutants like the old one, But that doesn't prevent playmates from doing toys.

Psycrow 02-06-2003 04:20 PM

Maybe if they start running out of ideas by like Season 4 or somethin', they might add in some mutant teasers once and awhile to have us think to ourselves:

"Did I just see what I thought I just saw?"

In my humble opinion, that's a GOOD thing!!!

Mondo_Gecko 02-06-2003 07:55 PM

Snailman i thought the same about the Bug episode i thought i'd see Needlenose and Killer Bee. One of the bugs was a bee maybe it was a nod to the toy.

Yeah, well aren't they different things anyway? That not so logical mutate-into-whatever-animal-you-touched-thingie... :-?

heretic888 02-07-2003 09:15 AM

ahem

yes, but a mutagen is simply any agent that brings about a mutation. its a pretty generic and scientific term.
