Auto Attack TMNT

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...tooth/crap.jpg

Um.... yeah! Yeah! You know what, Playmates? that's not going to be an overpriced piece of crap that no one will buy and wind up dragging the line down. Just like the other Deluxe TMNT figures no one ever wants...

raphael_is_cool 08-16-2007 01:36 PM

Haha. That's brilliant. Ninja robot suits that swing the weapon for you!

CyberCubed 08-16-2007 01:37 PM

These should look familiar to people, these were originally meant to be in the Fast Forward toyline.

Remember that mech-suit Michelangelo put on in the second FF ep with the Inuwashi Gunjin? He tries to fire with it but the suit falls to pieces. This was meant to be in the FF wave (no idea why Leo, Raph and Don have them too when only Mike wore it in the series), but since Playmates is done with FF they moved it into the moveline instead.

The sad thing is, these don't fit in with the movie figures. They should have just released them with the FF turtles where it'd make a lot more sense.

Leonardo19 08-16-2007 01:43 PM

not that i think much of these but what would you guys change about them? would they look better with better paint jobs? just curious and bored. lol.

BigApple3AM 08-16-2007 01:59 PM

The only way to make them better is to not exist. Where do they fit in the movie world? These are lame but I know I'll buy that Leo. I buy all Leos, I'm a Leo bitch.

Honestly though, as stupid as these are, if they gave them entirely new sculpts like they used to for the old toy line, I'd buy them all. Since 2003 the "deluxe" variants have been nothing but the same figure with some weird action feature. I don't know why they even keep making them when they DON'T SELL. They're ALWAYS clearanced out. I don't know why the stores keep ordering them, they're a complete and total waste. I can still find combat warriors from the 2k3 line for like $2.

Nostalgia aside looking at the toys from a creative standpoint, the original line was far better than what they're offering now, and yet they wonder why the pegs get clogged after a few months. TMNT toys were selling very well and then all of a sudden boom, they're almost as bad as spider-man 3 and pirates of the carribean 3 toys.

Wow sweet movie turtles. I totally remember these robo suits from the movie. It's great to see playmates stick to the movie with their movie figs. It makes sense right? Movie figs = movie robo mech killer thingys. Two thumbs way way up for playmates. Way to not be idiots and come up with dumb ideas to try and milk our beloved heroes for all you can possibly get without hindering the line.

ferret 08-16-2007 02:37 PM

These "things" are a disgrace! Why cant they do the rest of the monsters or some new vehicles o playsets- anything even slightly related to the movie besides being green and having a shell! If they're making turtle variants why can't they make something from the movie?!! I WANT IT TECH SUPPORT DON! Or Cowabunga Carl Mike!

*spoilers*

Yeah! I was totally awesome to see how all that metal armor allowed the turtles to move at warp ninja speed ! All raph had to do was press on a button on his joystick and every one of Shredder's moves would be blocked as the robot did the fighting for him!. This is great! Forgive my last post, I must have been thinking of another toy!! A power rangers toy:dead:
I cant wait to get these so I can re enact Leo blowing Shredder sky-high with one press of a button. It was so realistic when Raph floated face down to lure Shredder into their trap the metal collar around his neck let him breath with ease, and his body magicly stuck to the robot instead of hanging down and him choking. Yup, that was really realistic. Great stuff!

Know why? There was a slump between the release of the movie, and the release of the DVD. They started to slag after a while, but now the movie and figure varients are out, they are starting to sell again.

Shredder, I don't mind. In fact I would want him in the style of the movie, even though I keep saying how wonderful it was the movie was devoid of him.

But for the love of Michelangelo.... These would have sold poorly as FF toys, they're going to sell worse as Movie toys.

I wonder if this means that the new FF toys are dead and burried. Shame. I wanted to get that Bishop since I didn't get the other.

But Playmates... do the math. not so much for the integrity of the movie, but just please keep the mega box figures to a minimum....

 Shredder! That's great. This new movie toy line is quite comical. Wow.

honestly i end up buying into the variants of the classic line just to know that
i have them. but if theyre going to bs irrelevent "movie figures" like these..
the least they could do is change up the actual figure instead of just slapping
some pointless mech suit on. i agree with everyone saying there is wayyyyy
more they could come out with just based on the movie...
heres to hoping.

PS. mayb someone should start up a thread devote to what playmates
should release based on the movie that they havent. im to lazy to both
check if someone has started that already or to start it myself.
either way if it happens if my name pops up as a help of spawn for the idea...
that would be awesome...

TheShowstoppa 08-19-2007 01:00 AM

I'm sorry... I already have these. They're bigger and are called MECH WRECKERS. I looked forever for them, however, I'm not buying the damn movie line ones. Sorry... love the toys, not worth my time though for re-dos

That sounds like an idea..... Wait 2 minutes and I'll pop something up....

I thought about the same thing when I saw these. Those MECHS weren't worth my money but I saw and I had to have. They were pretty spendy too. I probably won't buy these new figs either unless they are on sale bigtime sometime in the future

Roseangelo 08-19-2007 01:34 PM

I thought the same thing about the Mech Wreckers. Oddly cool, but not worth the money. I did tell myself that if I ever found Mike on clearance for $10 or less that I'd buy him. And I actually did, so he's on a shelf now.

sidesh0wpat 08-22-2007 01:37 AM

Yah im trying to hold out on buying the movie line. hoping for some major
clearance to happen. trying to determine when to expect it though..
BUT..i have to say i caved and bought cowabuga carls van a couple weeks
ago for 14.99. i couldnt help it since i've been wanting the old school turtle
party van NIB FOREVER!!! and right now its as close as i could get. hahah

Leogeddon 08-22-2007 01:41 AM

i personally thought that those were just the robot parts that you put your turtle inside like the classic toys did. Oh well, im getting the normal movie toys for the heck of it, loved those more.
