Mutations Again

Dan Updated the official site today with Playmates new Mutating turtles with a new movie look.
Same old idea but with a better look if you ask me.

Still look a little tubby. :p

CyberCubed 11-16-2007 06:49 PM

Dammit, I really know I shouldn't buy these, as I already bought the 2k3 Mutating figures AND I still have the old cartoon Mutating figures...and buying these would make it three sets.

Aargh, Playmates, I don't know what to do.

Buslady 11-16-2007 07:12 PM

how stupid, how many different variations of a poorly selling toy do we need? There were tons of mutations figs from the 2k3 show on the pegs for the longest time and nobody wanted them!

I've stopped buying. Gets too expensive.

I'm actually tempted by these. Especially Mike, since he doesn't have a crazy look on his face. I'll have to find 'em in person and then decide.

I actually really like these! I must admit that Leo looks strange because of the strap they gave him, but movie style mutations was something that I put on the Big Foot form when I filled out the survey months ago. I wonder if these will be out by Christmas?

It also looks like there might be a place to store the weapons in the shell.

Krueger 11-16-2007 09:40 PM

I'm afraid I gotta pass on these. They should have just made the original movie figures and moved on to another line. These are the same old figures with new head on them.

Um actully they're not every single part is a brand new sculpt. If they used the same old sculpts and plopped new heads on them like they did for 2k3 I would have passed on these just like I did that set except the new foot soldier of course.

But They Come With Different Colored Oozes!

OA 11-16-2007 10:13 PM

Well, now that there is a new set of mutations coming, it looks like like we're ripe for a new set of motorcycle figures as well....round and round we go...:|

You can, and the weapons are smaller because of that.

I didn't say it was the same sculpt. I was being sarcastic except for the part of not buying them. You probably did buy the 2k3 mutations didn't you? They keep putting these out because people like you keep buying them.

Why would I buy things they brought out before, I'm one of the people who hate when they re-use sculpts over and over again.
I only have a handfull of turtle figures these days and they are all characters I like.
I don't even waste my money on stupid action feture or dressed up turtles.
So yeah guess again there bucko.

Actually, they are making a movie Leo and Raph on Shell-Cycles and a Mike and Don on Sewer Sliders. And these will have miniature counterparts. :P

My apologies! Just out of curiousity, I'd love to know what you consider a "handful." A handful should mean that you only like 5 characters. Surely you have more figures than that.
