TMNT Vol 4 on Wowio
As some of you might know Mirage has decided that Vol 4 will be online for free. They decided to place it on wowio.com Of course wowio (a free website sponsered annoyingly by Verizon) has catches:
1: Your email address can't be non-anonymous (a work emai, ISP email, or school email address will work) 2: If you don't have any of those you can sign up by sending them a scan of your ID card 3: Or you can sign up via a credit card (which will be pinged like a penny) 4: It's only for those in the U.S.A Yes it's a pain to join...but I got on with the help of a friend who graciously got me on via their isp email (thanks again Slash) Once you get on there are OTHER catches: 1: You can only DL 3 books per day 2: The books are PDF's (so you have to have PDF to read em) It's all worth it in the end tho..I've found numerous books that I've either been looking for, like issues of Adolescent Radioactive Blackbelt Hamsters :D...I love that series) or books I didn't know existed. Anyways. Vol 4 has started to be uploaded onto Wowio. I just checked and the first 2 issues are on right now! Can't wait to DL issue 29! |
Oh sweet, I already have a wowio account! Now I have even more incentive to use the thing more often. Thanks for posting this!
|
Too bad it's only for people from the US :(
|
Awesome news! I am so eager to read #29....:D
|
Ooh... 3 and 4 have been added now
|
All they have on there so far are the first four issues. SURELY everyone has read those by now.
|
I know several people who haven't. I've read em yea... but I mostly signed on to wowio to get Adolescent Radioactive Blackbelt Hamster books. Altho I had initially found out about it from a star trek news site when they (wowio) added the Gold Key TOS books. And now TMNT vol 4! Now if only they'd add Vol 2 (which I don't have everything of).

It's the internet. How can anyone really tell? What if I signed in from Mexico?

Issues 1 - 7 are now available on Wowio. Im hoping issue 29 will be available by the end of the week. *crosses fingers* :D
|
Bugs the Hell out of me - I can't even access the new Vol.4 stuff unless it goes into physical publication, and I'm writing for Tales! :(
|
Well, the book IS going to be available in print to buy as well. I would think that Mirage would send you samples since you need to be up to date on the canon-- a lot of Tales stories have been inspired by events that took place during the course of Volume 4.

International friends can email me (I would say PM, but it's full right now, so you might not be able to) with your full name and birthday and I'll try to get you hooked-up with an account. It might take several days per person, though, so patience!
|
Needless to say, I already read the first 3 issues today! Can't wait for more.
Other than the clearly visible alien invasion, they are actually pretty good. Jay looks like Howie. Raptarr is so cool. Coexistence with aliens is fine for Fast Forward- since by then the Turtles are deceased and it is clearly in the far future. But not while the Turtles have their regular lifetime in the present. |

I was thinking about looking for the issues. Now I can read them this way first, to see if it's as bad as everyone says before I possibly add the comics to my collection. |

Do I have to be a United States resident to sign up to WOWIO? For now, WOWIO is only available to people living in the United States. Copyright laws vary by country and currently our licensing restrictions limit distribution to U.S. residents. |
Read 4-6 this morning.
So far, the only part I dislike would be the "multicolored bandannas being too dorky". I think this would have been a good time to introduce them in Mirage- or if they did not want to, it was still not necessary to mention them. |
