The "non-Shredder and Krang" episodes of Season 4
Am I the only one who hates the "none-Shredder and Krang episodes. I thought getting a break from Shredder and co would be a fresh air after season 3, but wow, those individual Turtle episodes of season 4 are really a snore. They always include a lame, crazy scientist and are poorly written. There are a few good ones, like What's Michaelangelo good for. Leonardo VS Tempestra is originil and no crazy schientist, finally, and Raphael Drives them wild is pretty funny actually. But Michaelangelo meets Bugman is the silliest, most mindless, worst written episode of season 4. Other episode I can't stand are: Raphael Knocks em dead (bad jokes and silly plot), Leonardo Lightens up (lamest design for a villain ever and stupid plot) and Donatello Makes Time. What do you think? and which episodes do you like a nd dislike?

I think you mean Non but yeah I don't really care for them either but heck I don't care for the shredder and krang episodes afer awhile either untill they started the cbs episodes...the ones that would be on weekday afternoon fox I completly hated as a kid...I mean I can handle them now as an adult but they aren't my fave episodes.

Michaelangelo Toys Around - Ugh this episode is retardedly bad.
Funny, They Shrunk Michaelangelo - Creepy fat guy and his cat. "Dur let's play naked with toy boats!" Seriously freaky. Other pieces of crap. I'm aware Shredder and Krang are in these but some of them are way worse then any of the single turtle episodes. Name That Toon - Okay this and any episode containing Howie are considered to be the worst episodes of the entire series to me. I hate this episode. Menace, Maestro Please - And this one, I seriously can't even watch these their so bad. And I can still watch Mr.Ogg. Poor Little Rich Turtle - Another really bad episode, that little girl annoys me to no end. Back to the Egg - Baby turtles are annoying, stupid, and I hate anything containing them. |
I agree that Michelangelo Toys Around is one of the worst, hard to watch episodes. Also, kill me if you want, but I'm not a fan of the Europe vacation episodes (which chronologically take place during this season, so I guess they fit here).

The animation in Name That Toon was actually pretty good compared to the other syndicated episodes.

I liked the Leonardo ones, of course. Some were better than others. I liked Leonardo Lightens Up- but I'm a Leo fan. Unidentified Flying Leonardo was not all that good- and the subject matter would make a better Donatello episode to be honest.
Many of the filler episodes featured either an alien or a mad scientist of some sort. And thus it was very clear that they were fillers and not part of the main plot. |
Donatello's Degree
The non-Shredder episodes often had gangasters or mad scientists. New bad guys was what the show neaded, and gave more opportunities to introduce new characters. The TMNT kicked the butt off Shredder in most episodes.
I liked "Donatello's Degree". Donatello and Irma went by train to a university in the US countryside and fought some mad scientist trying to change the Earth's orbit. And "Michaelangelo Meets Mondo Gecko" from season 5 was also good. I would like to see more adventures taking place outside New York City, like "Return of the Technodrome" when the TMNT visitied the Niagara Falls. Why not an episode with a travel by train or aeroplane to Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle or Washington, DC, and the TMNT had to hide. Best of the Vacation in Europe series are "Turtles on the Orient Express", "Northern Lights Out" and "April Gets in Dutch". |

As far as ones that I have rewatched recently, I liked Michelangelo Meets Bugman and Raphael Meets His Match. I haven't watched Raphael Knocks Em Dead again, because I recall not liking that one as a kid (I think it was the 2nd episode on the Raphael VHS).

There really aren't any episodes that I hate. The lame stuff just made it funnier for me since if I want a real plot I'll watch Season 1, watch 2k3, or read the comics. What I don't like are some of the episodes in the CBS era that have really crappy framerates. They look really choppy and stuff.
I can't think of any titles off the top of my head, but I do know that there was one episode to serve as an example that had a generic mad scientist on a raft or something in the sewer toward the beginning of the episode. Not much to go on but that's the best I got. |

It's really sad I know that. |
