Shredder's Alternative Voice Actor

Who did the alternative voice for Shredder in the European Vaction Episodes?
Was it Jim Cummings, Townsend Coleman, or Dorian Harewood?

I believe James Avery provided the voice of Shredder for the European Vaction Episodes.

nope I was pretty sure it was Jim Cimmings.

Who was the stand in voice for Shredder in season three, and season seven?

Season 3 was Dorian Harewood. I'm pretty sure season 7 was Townsend Coleman, although it has been a long time since I've seen those episodes.

Just want to chime in here and drop some information...

There was an interview in the back of either a Darkwing Duck or Talespin comic book in which he said that the Shredder voice was extremely hard on his throat, and he would call the recording studio up saying something like, "Can we do this one on a friday afternoon so my voice can heal over the weekend.?"

You can tell he really didn't have that much fun doing the character, so I'm not surprised there were multiple alternate voices besides him.

Townsend Coleman did Shredder in some of the european episodes, James Avery also. Cummings did Shredder in the last episodes of season 7 and 1 episode in season 5.

Listen to your Oracle, The Great Favatt....

Dorian 1989 (Making of Metalhead, Terror of the Swamps et. al)
Peter Reneday - 1989 For whatever reason, one sole line in Turtles at the Earths Core.....'I'm still not certain why you probed us up to this subterranean pre-historia..'

Not sure about - 1991 Muckman Messes Up (One line, Quick You idiots!)
Napolean of the Swamps - Sounds like Dorian, but no where near as deep.

Jim Cummings - European
James Avery - European - Rust Never Sleeps...A Real Snow Job
Townsend Coleman - 1993 - Starting at Night of the Rouges
Bill E. Martin - 1994 -1996

James Avery didn't voice Shredder in many Season 7 episodes. If I remember he only voiced Shredder in two episodes - "Night of the Dark Turtle" and "The Legend of Koji".

Wow, I noticed those obscure ones too. And yes, I can also confirm that Cummings was the Euro Shredder (he was garbage too, wasn't he?).

Krangstein 01-29-2008 07:39 PM

Who did the 1991 alternitive then?

Vegita-San 01-30-2008 07:37 AM

I actually thought Dorian(1989) and Jim where the best ones. Townsend Shredder was the worst, I thought..

Luke795 01-30-2008 03:14 PM

Dorian Harewood was Shredder's alternative voice in 1989(Season 3),
Jim Cummings was Shredder's alternative voice in 1991(Season 5) and the European Vaction Episodes, Townsend Coleman was Shredder's alternative voice in 1993(Season 7) and you can say that Bill E. Martin was Shredder's alternative voice in 1994 -1996(Seasons 8-10).
