i want to know one thing why the turtles never have there tails in the cartoon

Probably because they didnt want parents mistaking the tails as another male body part that hangs down there :P

Agree with Cherubue. Just anotehr one of those silly things they had to censor form the show... along with nunchucks, martial arts violence, truly sinister villians, plots that made sense, NYC with actual people innit... *sai*

At least they got to drive around in a Turtle Van decked out with enough arsenal to take on the SWAT team! :evilgrin:

Yep... Someone wrote to Peter complaining about the tails resembling something else. I think that was back in issue 5? Or 6? I can't remember.

Well duh, they're very stupid parents of course! :D
If there's people thinking chucks are violent but pointy steel swords are not, you bet there's also going to be some other genius confusing a tail that does not ressemble a male reproducing organ at all with a penis (there i said it, giggle and i'll fly over to your house and smack you! :P [with a wet noodle so to avoid censoring :teek: chucks are bad, mmmmmkay. ] )
Other than that, i have no idea why they didn't include the tails.
Hey, if i saw a giant turtle with a penis coming out of his ass i'd freak out too :D but the problem is i dont think the tails look like such organ, they're very different, different enough to avoid confusion...

Yes, real turtles do. They're tucked up inside them when, um, not in use. :embarass:

Of course, I don't think the tail really looks like that, but due to the general position and general shape, I can see how people can be mistaken. And I think a big reason they weren't included in the old cartoon series was the need to simplify the characters for animation. Even in the movies, it just wasn't that vital to the design.

Hrmm.. yeah.. Though, I heard it was just a matter of censoring that they drew the old Cartoon TMNT without tails.

As for the Movie and TNM, it was then easier to make the costumes without tails. Less fear of it getting torn off too! :dead:
