What are your hopes for the Season 7 DVD?

So Season 7 is going to DVD next, how do you want it to be formatted?

I'm hoping the DVD starts off with the "Planet of the Turtleoids" 2-parter, I know its out of order but its best to put it at the start of the DVD anyway.

After that all the "European Vacation" episodes should come on the DVD in order. And lastly after those, the regular Season 7 episodes should round out the set.

In the "Bonus features" section, I hope to see the second Hokum Hare episode and all the "Turtle Tips" shorts that haven't been on DVD yet.

That's my big hopes for the DVD, do you think Lionsgate will do it?

I agree on "Once Upon a Time Machine" and "Planet of the Turtloids" inclusion. Though (as I brought up in another post) with the European Vacation and the regular part of Season 7, the large number of episodes may nix that. Still would be good to finally have those (after 2 skip-overs of them).

The Turtle Tips would also be an interesting inclusion.

ToTheNines 04-20-2008 02:26 PM

How do I think they will do it? No idea.

How do I hope they will do it? Personally I hope they skip Euro Vacation and just give us the regular season 7 ASAP. Then after that I hope they release all 3 red sky season at once. Then finally they would release the Euro eps with 3 bonus episodes, calling it a "lost episodes DVD" as a gimmick.

The only problem for me would be deciding where to put that last one in my DVD collection.

VaughnMichael 04-20-2008 02:28 PM

yeah if they have the vacation episodes on the next set and the 2 other missing episodes the next set will sure be screwy to me lol

Spitfire 04-20-2008 02:38 PM

They might as well just get it all out on DVD. Unlike the 2K3 series order hardly matters in the series except Red Sky which is one huge story arc. It's funny the two times order is needed they manage to screw it up. They got lucky on the "Planet Of The Turtleoids" episode because they explained everything that happened and how they met Kerma so anyone who hasn't seen it would just assume it was an adventure they had they never showed. As for the Hokum episode him just disappearing and them never showing him return is nothing new. I think it's BS those episodes aren't on DVD yet either but their noting really messing up anything by not putting them out.

I think that Lionsgate should release the 14 Season 7 episodes, the 13 European episodes, the Planet of the Turtleoids episodes, and the Once Upon a Time Machine episode in one boxset which will have 30 episodes. Then they should release the last 24 episodes Seasons 8,9, and 10 in one boxset.

30 episodes would be an expensive release, but I would buy it just because of how aweomse season 7 is.

Yeah, a little more in price. But would only be near the amount of the Season 4 Set (since that had 40 episodes). So is another good thought.

MrPliggins 04-20-2008 05:52 PM

It seems a little weird to include the European episodes and season 7 on the same set. I think it would be better to keep 'em seperate. That way, you can put the European episodes where they really belong on the shelf- in the middle of season 4.

Are you going to cut you're season 4 case in half and put the EV disc there?

But seriously, putting it right after season 4 would not mess anything up cannonically.

MrPliggins 04-20-2008 07:08 PM

LOL...yeah I guess so.. too bad it's not season five I'd be cutting in half..that'd make more sense since the DVDs are pizza. I would probably just put either after 3 or after 4.

Oh, I forgot volume 6 had the first episode of season 4 (in which Raph wins his European Vactation), so yes it technically would fit very weel after season 3 :D

That sounds like the most reasonable option to me. But, it might be too reasonable to expect from Lionsgate... :ohwell:

themaxonline 04-20-2008 09:48 PM

I think they should include the missing episodes with the European set, since in a way, that whole set is kind of like a "missing season". And they should be included as a bonus 2 DVDs for the actual season 7 set, which in itself will be two DVDs. So 4 DVDs altogether with "2 DVDs of bonus material = the missing episodes!!!!" What an amazing selling point right there!

Fiendishglow 04-23-2008 09:00 PM

I just want it to come out fast.

Deathknight 04-23-2008 10:13 PM

Wouldn't suprise me if they released just the European Vacation and then season 7. Still, I'll be glad to finally get to see those all those episodes uncut. I'd really like to see some special features this time. Turtle Tips would be sweet, more interviews with some of the other VAs would be nice.

It wouldn't surprise me at all. That's actually the way I expect it to happen.

European Vacation: 2 disc DVD set
Season 7: 2 disc DVD set
Season 8, 9 and 10: 3 disc DVD set.

They'll probably put the missing episodes on the European Vacation set as the bonus features.

sdp 04-24-2008 09:21 AM

While I'd love for them to do what CyberCubed mentioned what ToTheNines suggests would also work.

lol@spitfire, they manage to screw up the very few times theres continuity (also done on the first dvd)

the turtle hare and the two parter need to be on a set even as a bonus set.

Continuity doesn't bother me as much anymore I just want to have the episodes on DVD. Afterall isn't S3 is out of order as well.

gobo 04-24-2008 10:03 AM

The whole series is out of order. ^_^ From the few obscure or even the handful of obvious context clues, we can tell that no ep list in existence has them in proper continuity order. And, instead of asking those who should know, Lionsgate keeps following publically accessible ep lists from the internet to dictate the configuration of their releases.

If the Season 6 DVD is any indication, we can't expect Lionsgate toexpend more than the minimum effort on the next DVD. So, I expect that we'll get a set of three or four discs containing all thirteen of the European Vacation (now that I think of it, it really was 'National Lampoon'-quality ^_^) and the fourteen of the CBS season, because that's how both NinjaTurtles.com and TV.com have Season 7 listed. Being that this will be more than two discs, maybe that was why they didn't want to swing for bonus features on the Season 6 set. Less people would expect bonus material on a two-disc release, so they should just save it for another 'box' release.

Sage Ninja 04-24-2008 09:52 PM

I hope season seven comes in a box set and not in the brocken uo volumes style we had a while ago. And if we do get bonuses I would like to have Interviews with Peter Reneday and Renea Jocobs, and maybe Jennifer Darling, and turtle tips. Also I know this is in the realm of "probably never going to happen" but i would like episode commentaries by eighther the writer of said episodes or the actors giving their comments about it. That would be sweet.
