What going on with the 25th anniversary ?

What is the latest news on the 25th anniversary of the turtles ?

Unless you're a fan of the comics, no interesting news yet. Frustrating news however: we were supposed to get a direct to DVD mini-movie that adapted the first comic book, it was gonna be by imagi and have all the VA's from TMNT 07, it got cancelled for a bunch of ******** reasons.

Murphy posted it in his blog once new's that it had been cancelled hit. He say's we're still in for something almost as exciting though.

Really stupid question but when is this "great thing" supposed to happen? Does anyone know?

CyberCubed 06-09-2008 02:29 PM

In terms of comics we're getting Archie's "Forever War" finally published. Murphy said its in black and white though. We're also getting a trade paperback of some select Archie issues that lead up to that story arc so some people can catch up with the story.

As far as I know, beyond that 4kids had a a 25th anniversary logo sometime back on Murphy's blog, but I don't know what it'll be used for.

Corrected. :dead:

^^ Since it wasn't incorrect before, 'paraphrased' would be more appropriate. I guess it was a bit misleading as far as who was to blame though.

From Cynopsis Kids this morning:

Quote:

Mirage Studios and 4Kids Entertainment's Shell-ebration plans for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) 25th Anniversary year next year includes the launch of fan site TMNT25. Designed to provide fans with updated information and offers related to the anniversary year, TMNT25.com will go live during ComicCon San Diego this July. Currently being developed by Sype, the teaser fan site will eventually transition into a full interactive website as we move closer to 2009. Peppercom's marketing group Peppercommotions is managing the building of the site and its launch.

LeoNerdo 06-12-2008 06:11 PM

ToTheNines 06-12-2008 06:30 PM

I think it's a good sign that Mirage is able to publish reprints of the Adventures comics. I thought maybe there would have been some tricky thing with the rights to the comic, since it was published by Archie originally and not Mirage.

Also, there's a volume 1 Mirage TPB planned. It's going to have some changes George Lucas style, but considering how hard to find the original volume 1 trade is I guess it's better than nothing at all.

Fixed.

That is just absolutely great. All the turtles in various forms. Too bad they left the live action films out. But I guess they only have 4 Turtles to work with anyway

Canadian Turtle 06-13-2008 03:17 PM

I am PUMPED! I hope they come out with some good DVD box sets or some tribute toys or something!!
