What does Peter Laird think of Lord Dregg?

I don't believe I've ever heard him say anything about the character. Does anyone know what Peter Laird thought when the original cartoon replaced Shredder/Krang with Lord Dregg for the final 2 seasons?

From what I remember he has no opinion on Dregg as he doesn't remember much of the old toon.

Well Peter obviously had little do with the series from the start, and I bet his presence got more and more scarce as the show went on. Once it got to be Red Sky time, he probably didn't even know the show had been revamped.

Oh come on. He had to be aware of it somehow. It was his creation after all.

Maybe it was Kevin Eastman's idea? Maybe he was the one that was more involved in the old cartoon.

I know the "mutations" done in the red sky eps stemmed from ideas of Eastman and Laird. They had to know about it.

Laird has stated that he and Eastman had to approve EVERY script before it could be produced as an episode. Whether they actually read the scripts is anyone's guess, but they were at least aware that the TMNT were getting a new villain, I'm sure.

Right, but I still doubt he cared at that point.

Laird thinks Dregg is the savior of his franchise because his debut marked the end of the old toon (basically) which gave him the chance to start over the ninja turtle franchise with a clean slate. Heck if not for Dregg the old toon might still be running.
