TURTLES ON ADULT SWIM

Okay I was watching Adult Swim on cartoon network. And I was really mad because they're starting Yu Yu Hakusho all over again w/o going more than 1/2 way into the series...

But right after it ended there was a COMERCIAL TALKING ABOUT TURTLES BEING ON THIS SATURDAY AND THEY SHOWED CLIPS OF THE NEW EPPISODE.

that made me really happy because they're advertising turtles during a time when ADULTS are watching anime! I hope that it DOES generate some new viewers from the adult swim crowd. (I watch it every night and never saw this before!)

in theory we could see turtles on adult swim some day... fox does have relations with cartoon network.

either way GO GREEN MACHINE!

Whoa, really? I wasn't aware of that.

R-iZZy 02-20-2003 07:47 AM

YAY!!! Now I can have more reason to watch Adult Swim!!! I usually watch only the Brak Show, that show with the kids trying to make home movies, and that's it. Now I can watch more!!!

Prowl 02-20-2003 09:03 AM

Home movies is hillarious.

Yeah, as far as I know FOX and CN/WB don't have anything do with each other. Besides, it's the relationship between 4Kids and WB that's important.

Greed 02-20-2003 01:26 PM

Well Fox did sell CN Futrama

Eye of Sarnath 02-20-2003 01:26 PM

This can only be a good thing.

Shadow 02-20-2003 01:54 PM

the point is...anything is possible...I'm not saying it will happen but its a nice thought.

(I'm still very peeved that yu yu hakusho is now going to be off cartoon network. what a crock!)

but with advertising turtles on adult swim its a cool step in the right direction.

turtle power!

At least with the new TMNT on adult swim, we won't have to get up early on saturdays anymore. Yu Yu Hakusho is moving to toonami on march 3.

Eye of Sarnath 02-20-2003 02:10 PM

I checked on Cartoon Network's official site, and didn't see anything about the TMNT. Of course, they may not have posted anything yet. I assume we'll know from the official site when and if it happens.

Shellfox 02-20-2003 03:05 PM

may be I'm reading this wrong but it sound like Shadow only saw an add for Fox Box TMNT add played on Adult swim. And they were just advertieing it at a time that adult would be more likly to see it. I don't think TMNT is coming to Adult swim, at least not now, I'd suck, we're on ep 2 showing it that much would be over kill.

And Yu Yu is not off CN, its just in Flux at the moment, new eps will be shown on Toonami, I believe in march, when it goes back to 2 hours with a more adult block, as well as the finnal eps of DBZ, then moving into GT

guys...i said they were advertising on adult swim FOR FOX. LOL...I said I thought it was a possibility it COULD BE ON (as in to watch) in the future...

I just thought that advertising for it there was a good way to get more adult fans of the show (that may not be) to watch it ....on FOX.

We can only hope that one day it will make it into the line up on Adult Swim...that would be very sweet.

Thanks NinjaDryCleaners for the info about my boys Yusuke and Hiei!
I don't have to cry anymore. :D

No such thing

What Adult Swim should do is get the old series of the Turtles and air those. Every night would kick ass from that point on. In fact, they should just air the turtles ever other show; just like what they do with Scooby-Doo. I'd have a reason to live. I love cartoons.

Which reminds me! Not to get completely off subject here but does anyone remember a Hanna-Barbera cartoon about this rock band of three guys who were also secret agent superhero's? One guy had water powers and the other turned into a springy man. And they all said "Tally-HO!" and what not? Anyone know the name?

I doubt many adults watch anime. Everyone I work with hates Japanese animation, and think every cartoon that was made after 1980 sucks.

Strange, most people I know that like anime are in the late teens to mid 30's, and I don't know very many kids who would watch more mature-themed anime.

Then again I hang out in a lot of comic/card stores with Magic:tG players :tanime: .

Well, those people were about 15 or so when the real anime was in its best years (e.g. Akira). I'm guessing the "adults" Matt was talking about are at least 40 years old.

Am I right, Matt?

One Radical Dude 02-20-2003 07:50 PM

So, the ad was just to lure CN/AS viewers to watch TMNT on Fox?

Shadow 02-20-2003 08:02 PM

BINGO! But that's a good thing...the more viewers the better the ratings (even though they're good right now!)

It just struck me as cool when they did it because it shows what kind of wide rage audiance they're going for!

peace and fun
Shadow
