NTTNM UK DVD set....warning, edited..
 

I just wanted to inform folks that the 3Disc set that collects the last batch of Next Mutation episodes seems to be edited on at least one episode. Despite Ninja being on the cover, Turtles Night Out is edited. The caller to Mikey's pirate radio show that talks about drugs is edited out (and the show is better for it ;)).....anything with a knife seems to be edited out too, like Bonesteel and his giganta sharp weapon. You see it for about 3 seconds and then boom, cut out.

Thanks for the heads up! I was going to buy the DVDs (still am ;) ) but this is good to know.

We talked about this a while back, the ep was cut down to 14 minutes for some reason.

If someone could show me Turtles Night Out in its entirety I could probably point out why it may have been edited for the UK or general audience.

Technically, all the eps were 20.5 minutes each. Most of the UK versions were edited down to 16. If you mean the Bonesteel ep was edited from the original UK broadcast duration, I guess I missed your point.

That's pretty stupid, it's a f***ing DVD they could put whatever they want on it you'd think.

The UK "Hero Turtles" edits were just considerably cheaper, I suppose...

They could, but they're going with UK broadcast masters, not the original US broadcast masters. Sort of like how certain DVD's come out with the syndicated version of a sitcom, not the original broadcast... ALF for example.

It's been a while since I've last watched NM on BBC1 mind. I don't recall them being broadcast for 16 minutes each though.

Nope. Neither one. There are two sets.

Its safe to say that these could have been made A LOT better, but since the series on topic is Next Mutation I can't picture the Jetix (or whomever) production team putting in a lot of creative effort.
