Solicitation for TMNT #10!!!!!!!!

Just got this from the Blast From The Past Website (which also has an update on the Hallmark TV movie):

TMNT #10
This special giant-sized issue, with sixty pages of story, joins what would have been issues 10 and 11 of TMNT into one compelling chapter of the TMNT saga.

A desperate, epic battle to save April’s life rages, pitting NanoBaxterbot against NanoTurtlebot... the mysterious Xihad strikes... and in the end, death comes to a beloved member of the family.

60 pages, black and white, $3.95 US/$5.50 Canada

Sounds like it could be the end of the current story arc, or at least a pivitol chapter in it. I wonder who's death it will be, my first thought was April but that seems almost too obvious, guess we'll find out in June (or maybe the solicitation for #11 but I don't think Peter Laird would do that).

Wow. They've never killed anyone off before. I must admit, I've started wondering if April is going bye-bye. We know it can't be a Turtle. I hope its not Splinter though...they've got him living away from the Turtles, he's not the constant influence he used to be.

Yeah, it's not gonna be one of the TMNT (everyone has their favs so killing anyone of them could lose the book readers) and Casey and Shadow don't seem to be in any danger so that probably rules them out. April is the most obvious with Splinter coming in second, though there doesn't seem to be any real threat to Splinter at the moment (unless things changed in #8, I'm still waiting for that to arrive at my local comic shop).

I don't really want either of them to die, but they are Peter's characters and he can do what he likes, plus it will make for some interesting stories in the following issues.

I hope they do a collection of #1-10, in one big book...

Karpo_007 02-21-2003 05:15 AM

Well it is a long time until Im getting in to those issues, but Im not really happy about the fact he put a spoiler like that in there...

Chris 02-21-2003 07:24 AM

Yeah, hopefully when #10 comes out people will keep the spoilers in the thread rather than in the thread title so that those who haven't got the comic yet (or like Karpo are waiting to read them) don't come to the comics forum and see (VICTIM'S NAME) DIES!!!! when they want to read it for themselves first.

Karpo_007 02-21-2003 07:55 AM

Yeah. Well nice to see we will get a double issue.

Issue 10 should be lots of fun. Sounds like it'll be longer than issue 3. Can't wait! :D

Jephael 02-21-2003 11:18 AM

Now that I think of it, someone could probably sacrifice himself/herself to save April in the story in some way (in that case, it would most likely be Casey)

Karpo_007 02-21-2003 11:20 AM

I can't really speculate, Having only read the first issue in 4th volume. Well Il start reading City at War today.

I got issue 8 the other day, Splinter doesn't seem to be in any danger at the moment, but you never know. It did cross my mind when I read it that April may be on her way out. The Utroms don't seem to have a way to stop those 'bots yet and they're already starting to tear her apart.

God, If Splinter dies, I'm gonna cry...

I dont doubt that it could be April, considering her current health state either....

In the TMNT #9 Solicitation thread this was said:

Good prediction :D

Karpo_007 02-21-2003 01:49 PM

Yeah It took me some time...

Dinny 02-21-2003 03:36 PM

Wow thats huge! I wander hu theyll kill off. And besides Shredder, when was the last time Mirage did kill off a character?

Karpo_007 02-21-2003 03:56 PM

Well there has been Foot soldiers...

Skeletoncrew 02-21-2003 04:32 PM

Well, there's always Shredder...but he keeps coming back!

Alright, it looks like the action is going to pick up over the next few issues. That's what I like to hear. There's been a great deal of plot development and tension but I guess now is the time for the pay off. I wonder if this will end the arc? I was guessing that it would be a 13 parter like City At War or Volume 2. I'm so psyched about a double issue, yeah.

Wow, an important character kill off that's unexpected. I'm okay with that though, as long as it's done well. This volume has been quite light in tone thus far, so I was suspecting that something drastic would happen before too long.

Here's my prediction:
Robyn. She's a member of the "family", April's family that is. I have a feeling that she'll die by giving April an organ or blood or something like that in order to save April's life.

xZAOx 02-22-2003 12:10 AM

ooo good theory rat king. b/c who cares about robyn? lol. all signs point to april. but that kinda seems obvious...im thinking splinter. i mean, the average rodent lives 3 years...mutagen i spowerful stuff, sure, but hes looked like hes about to die since he was first mutated..

and karpo, yeah, its kinda a spoiler. altho, i see it more as a marketing ploy hehe
