This issue is my apparent TMNT comics swan song. I will still be involved in a couple other projects during the 25th anniversary, but no more comics...I hope you guys like this final issue...

I was afraid it would be coming out during Comic-Con... mebbe I can find one on the Convention floor somewhere.

well I know I will be getting it, just late like always because I had to remain faithful to my old comic store from my hometown. They mail me comics every 2-3 months so I am always behind, but looking forward to seeing it guys

Pretty good story, I hope we get more things that take place during volume 2.
the new villian wasn't much of a threat though and sort of was generic in a random old comic book villians sort of way.
I do enjoy the fact that Splinter is around though and how Casey helped out.
Does anyone else think that anything will come about of the little Leonardo chess piece that wasn't destroyed with the others?
Hmm I wonder if that's what really happend to Leo during Blind Sight.

Oddly enough I loved the short story in the back! The art was killer and a very welcome change and even though I hate that they are having the foot mystics suddenly look as they do in the 2k3 show in the comics it was cool to see who was being that evil shaddow.

Congrats to Tokka for having his art in the pinup section even though I think personally it just doesnt translate very well into black and white and he should have sent in a straight black and white inked drawing.

Come on, you know the drill. I won't get to read this issue until Jesus comes back from the grave again and pays me the $20 he owes me, so make with the spoilers!

Thanks V! Kennon dominated this one! I actually wanted it to play out without dialogue, but it's there now ( :ohwell: :lol: )! Out of curiosity, how would you rather see, or how would you imagine the mystics look?

You're welcome I wish it was a bit longer, the new blood that works on the series is always welcome by me because the ideas are fresh and new.
I'd like to see the Mystics look as they did in the other tales of tmnt issues mostly the first few times they are introduced to us in the series.
I also sort of hate that design they looks like clam heads lol.

More good fun, would seem perfectly at home in Volume 2.

I enjoyed the issue and the rather visceral backup... I like Tristan bringing up Leonardo having to take out Saki because Raphael couldn't as a hot-button for Raph, in particular.

What an unexpected pinup! Fantastic seeing Tokka's work in print, even though you just know he's got an even better colorized version stashed away.

I think the Mystics you're referring to are the three from Murph's stories aren't they? The one's from Quick and the Dead and The Seed (I think that's the title, Vol.2 #2). I know there was another in the Shredder Shark story... I guess they never really had a uniform look...

I kinda dig the clamshell look though! Have you ever seen the Lone Wolf and Cub movies? They remind me of some of the assassins from those films.

Something worth noting, I'd originally written the Mystic in as Splinter, and it was like a personalised, tough-love training that Splinter had arranged ala Leo in Blindsight. We changed it to the Mystic as it was perhaps a little too ambiguous with such a small story.

No, I liked it as the Mystic. The conclusion -- as such -- gave a genuine payoff, where if it had just been Splinter, it'd be more of a "Oh, har-har, just Splinter screwing with Raph" thing.

True, but I suppose it's open to interpretation, as we've never really seen Splinter screw with anyone outside of Leo in Blindsight. But I do feel the same as you, once we made the decision to move on to the mystic, I felt substantially better about the story. It might even play a part in something bigger down the road... ;)

Going back on to Tokka's pinup - I thought it was sick to see it there! Admittedly, having seen the colour version, it does lose a little in the translation, but it was still really awesome to have there!

And being a fan of villains, I really dug having a new villain thrown in the TMNT mix with a solid story to boot! It's a pity Jake's decided to move on :(

Yeah I like that it was a mystic I don't think I'd have liked splinter playing with Raph the dude gets enough crap.
I've never seen that movie no so I can't say I've seen what you're talking about.
I just think it bothers me because like out of nowhere we now get these guys who came about from the new cartoon running amok in the comics.

It's not finding copies that's the problem, it's that my CBG for whatever reason, doesn't get the issues until months later. Issue 46 just came in two weeks ago. And for whatever reasons, except for the movie prequels/adaptation, this is only true for TMNT comics.
