What If Marvel Published a TMNT comic?

Imagine The Possibilities

1. What if...
The Turtles had not fallen down the sewer drain? What if Splinter alone had become a giant rat without students? Would he have thought out his revenge on Shredder?

2. What if...
April was evil and had gone along with Stockman's mouser scheme? Would the city have been overthrown by an unstoppable horde of mousers? Would Splinter and the TMNT have survived the assualt on the sewers?

3. What if...
The Utroms were really intergalatic terrorists duping Splinter and the Turtles into taking out General Blanque and their Triceraton competition?

4. What if...
The Turtles had been raised by the evil Shredder instead of Splinter?

5. What if...
Raphael had accidentally killed Casey Jones in their first meeting and kept silent about it? Would the Turtles had survived the events of Leonardo #1 and TMNT #10?

6. What if...
Kirby and Donatello both got stuck in Warp Crystal's fantasy land?

7. What if...
Raphael surpassed Leonardo as the more capable leader of the TMNT at an early age?

8. What if...
Renet and the Turtles had never found in the time scepter in the giant prehistoric fish in Tales 1.7? What would the time spectrum be like with the Turtles stuck in prehistoric times? Better yet, what if the Time scepter could not take them to the right time, but sent them through time in a "quantum leap"-like series of adventures?

9. What if...
Master Yoshi had survived Saki's attack unbeknownst to Splinter?

10. What if...
The Foot Clan had rebelled against Saki's leadership and followed their tradition?

Actually, I had at least one idea like this I'd been plotting out for fun. I only hesitate to post it here because the introduction of the "alternate unvierse" gimmik to TMNT: mirage through the battle nexis means if I ever actually got the chance to publish with mirage I could potantially use it (and things that have shown up on the net as fanwork rarely get published)

Still, I like number 3 (cause it's an easy way to introduce an utrom-krang) 6, and 7 alot.

Well... this would be an interesting concept. Having "What If?" stories [basically ala-fanfics] based on the various continuities (from the different comics, or shows, etc.).

Marvel producting TMNT would be the worst thing out there. Marvel and DC are hyped up, over plotted, over sensationalised....TMNT is unique, keep it that way.

When I read the OP I had visions of big breasted women in skimpy outfits with impossible hair and muscle-bound men traipsing about the pages of TMNT along with the boys, and I was like, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!". Then I read the replies and realized zeromagnus meant the What If? comics. :tanime:

I like the concept of What If? stories, but I agree that Marvel should not be the one to do them.

then they most likely wud have a crosover with hulk ot batman or spiderman;)

I'd like to see "what ifs" of the old cartoon.

Right now one that comes to mind is, what if it was a 50 foot April instead of a 50 foot Irma?

what if the turtles where all female instead of male?

If Marvel did turtles there'd be some guest super hero every issue to force fans of other series to buy the comic so they have all the issues featuring that character. 90% of the time it'd be someone lame or someone no ones ever heard of. Also there'd be a giant entire universe crossover once a year the turtles would get dragged into and have a 2 page bit role in.

It's pretty much be a comic written around crossovers. I don't even read anything but turtles anymore but anytime I go to the store to buy turtles comics thats what all the comic covers look like to me.

They'd all fight for The Shredder's affections. And Master Splinter would be screwed as far as exacting revenge for Yoshi.

Isn't that what the Image run was like? There was an early cameo by Mako and Savage Dragon was a given to a appear but it did seem for a while that Larsen was trying to entice fans of some of his minor characters whose books were cancelled to try and buy vol. 3 with continual guest appearances.

My memories also fuzzy but weren't the turtles also involved on one of Image's crossovers (the one that tied in with the release of the Mars Attacks movie) in very minor way.

That being said, if the turtles were at Marvel I wonder were each character would have sided during Civil War.

Jarrah would have been banned in five months.


There would most likely be a fight between Killer Croc and Leatherhead. Croc doing stuff, Leatherhead getting the blame, Batman fighting the turtles because they'd try to clear Leatherhead's name... something like that.

Would they? Splinter just named them from the book, it's not like he knew any better.

What If........

- The Mirage Turtles were trapped in the OT Turtles universe, and Vice Versa.

- The turtles and Splinter got cancer from the radioactive retro-mutagen ooze .

- Became students at Proff. Xavier's School.

- Splinter wasn't around when the turtles were first mutated.

- Became soldiers for Magneto's Brother Hood.

- Eastman and Laird never met.

- Fought the Shredder and lost.

- Met Stephen King's Pennywise the Clown in the sewers

Don and Leo would probably go with stark, raph and mike would probably go with cap.
