which version of Karai do you guys like the best and why?

For me I like CGI Karai the most. Every one can say what they want about the CGI movie but i thought she was cool and strong version of Karai and i want to see more of her. I like Karai in the mirage comics and her back story and how in it she is Shredder's equal not his subdornant.

Karai in the new toon is good, I like the twist they gave her of being under Che'rell and being his adpoted daughter and how she has loyality to him. But i find her annoying as well because his evil is pretty much in her face and she still defends him, plus I wasn't cool with her behavior toward the turtles in the season four and five.

Karai is a great character in the Mirage comics. She's got depth, provides a nice contrast to the Turtles in City at War, and continues to be an interesting and enigmatic head of the Foot Clan.

Her portrayal in the new cartoon can verge on irritating, and we saw about ten seconds of her in TMNT, which isn't enough to pass judgement on.

Lotus Blossom from the old cartoon was not based on Karai, by the way. She was actually created before Karai, and Karai and Leo had absolutely zero tension until the new cartoon threw that in.

Aye... Karai didn't appear till 1992 while Lotus first appeared in 1989.

I guess I'm a little bias because CGI Karai was animated in such an attractive way and she gives off that "asian" feel with the authentic accent, instead of some white actress putting on a sterotypical asian accent. CGI Karai just looks right as a her character, and feminine. Karai in the new show looks pretty butch to me with her choise of armor and page boy hair cut. And her green eyes really throws you into thinking she's not even really Japanese. Plus CGI Karai doesn't annoy me as New toon Karai does.

I kinda liked 2k3 Karai up until the end of season 3. After that I think her character just lost it. Her intense hatred for the turtles seems very illogical and contradicts her attitude at the end of the Exodus arc. Her whole taking over the Shredder persona was out of place (despite being a nice twist) and had no real motive other than plot device, IMO.

I like CGI Karai, mostly for her design, and am pretty interested in seeing what the Karai in the new season would look/act like.

The new seris Karai gets props for being an adolescent maturing in a pretty f*cked up world where her friends are terrorising her parents and she has a strong sense of duty and priority to things she finds "wrong". In the fourth season, she's definatly a lost soul, but the Lost Season implies minmally and then largely that Chaplin was there for her the whole time after Ch'rell's exile and she finally got around to recognising her priorities in life..thus maturing as Leo had when he recovered spirtually from the shell wound.

I like to think Karai's mind was being manipulated by The Foot Mystics around the fourth season, since they had decided to ressurect The Tengu Shredder by that point...but Chaplin being around probably kept her from completly swaying to thier obediance because he provided a calming point for her soul. In fact, Karai coming to April's store and telling her the Turtles were dead came across as an act of personal responsibilty that the real Karai would have took upon herself...a shade of her old self bubbling above the surface whilst the emotionally conflicted version lashed out

No. The Karai in the comics and Lotus Blossom bare absolutely nothing in common besides being female ninjas.

People just love to compare them because the new toon gave Karai conflicting loyalties and weird tension with Leo. Even then the comparison is a stretch.

I liked CGI Karai for most of the same reason the NGH1066 has mentioned (thanks for saving me some typing!). Also I just found her more intersting and mysterious version of Karai than her new toon counterpart. I like how cooly badass she and poised was. She had complete control and respect of her foot clan and I liked how calm honorable she was potrayed. Plus it was just icing on the cake that she voiced by Ziyi Zhang, because I just love her as an actress.

I've never read the mirage comics with Karai so I can't comment, but even before Karai went all vengeful in season four and five. I wasn't that big on her. My opinion on her was much the same as Raph's when she showed up in CAW in the second season, and Leo and her dynamic got a bit tiresome at times.

I like the Vol 1 Karai, but not sure if I like Vol 4 Karai. I'm with Yorae on the fact that I hate the Karai went back to being all moody. So my vote is still up in the air.

I voted for 2k3 Karai. She's the best developed of the bunch.

CGI Karai, she was cool and an intersting character. 2K3 Karai, I just can't stand her, I never liked her even before she went all angsty in season four and her arrogant attitude made me loath her guts even more. What bothers me about Karai in 4KIDS is she never takes responciablity for her own actions and never considers that something may have been her fault. It's always the turtles fault. If Karai farted in a room full of people it would be the turtles fault. I can't stand people like that. :roll:

even if Karai isn't ment to be Lotus Blossum and vise versa it's weird how both the old toon and the comics came up with the idea of having a female ninja to have Leonardo to come up against that has tyes with the foot and has torn principles.
