TMNT books

In Sweden, we had these books: Hero Turtles. http://www.tradera.com/Teenage_Mutan...ktion-70397934 from 1992. It's an adaption of the episode "Splinter No More" for the 1987 cartoon, with another title ("Porten till Dimension X", meaning "The portal to Dimension X"). Notice the "Hero Turtles", and Michelangelo is using a bo staff. There is also an adaption of "Return of the Technodrome" named "Pizzagänget räddar världen" ("The pizza team saves the world"), see http://www.tradera.com/TEENAGE_MUTAN...ktion-71828006 from 1992. There is also this: http://www.tradera.com/TEENAGE_MUTAN...ktion-71828007 "Pizzagänget och dinosaurierna" ("the pizza team and the dinosaurs") from 1993, which I have never seen but I believe it's "Turtles at the Earth's Core".

I actually have those sitting in my basement. When I was a wee tot some relatives living in Britain got me the set of "Hero Turtles" books.

I always did wonder why the drawings showed Michelangelo with the wrong weapons...

Very nice! How many of these books were made? What other episodes were adapted?

Because in certain countries Nunchuks are banned weapons so they gave him a different weapon.

Oh, I've been aware of that for ages, I just didn't know when I was a kid.

Other stories

Where any other stories turned into books like those?

Ah I had some of these too and probably easy to find back home seeing as they'd likely be kept in a book case rather than in amongst a pile of comics.

They were all small hardback books which adapted episodes of the cartoon. I believe I had the whole collection, certainly all the ones back cover said were available.

If memory serves there was "Splinter No More", "Return of the Technodrome", "Enter the Rat King" and "Take Me to Your Leader". The books were fully illustrated and drawing featured really cuddly looking turtles.

Years later I saw books published by the same people but with original stories and the art by was done clearly by a different person that was less cutsey, you could also buy it with a casette that had an audio version of the story. According to the back there were several books with original stories but I could ever find two. I vaguely recall the two I have being called "Undercover Heroes" and "Shredder's Invisible Maze".

I remember having these small pocket sized books back during the early 90s. I remember one of them was about the turtles being curious about school and splinter let them go to school for the day. It was pretty funny if not very ooc. I believe it was called School Daze or something like that.

I think I've seen that one on ebay some time ago.
