Jon 09-21-2008 08:50 AM

Oh well. Your Wal-Mart doesn't, but others have.

Jester 09-21-2008 08:58 AM

And you're right, it has been said else where.

IamtheKnight 09-21-2008 09:47 AM

my walmart doesnt sell tmnt toys either.

Drtooth 09-21-2008 10:25 AM

Vaugn really needs to say something here... I know he's got a better angle on this than me.

Suffice to say, considering Playmats is killing itself with movie varients over and over, It's no surprise.

Hell, I was at a Target yesterday, and all they had were the "New" Mutations... only about 2 bucks less than the original Movie ones...

Oh, and one single dress up kit.

Warhorse 09-21-2008 11:37 AM

Have you guys tried Spencers, Hot Topics or Toy's R Us?

Also, wait till around late Otcober to December, with the holidays creeping up, they may be saving the toys in the back for the holiday rush!

Walmart is an iffy place. The one superwalmart by my house absolutely SUCKS! I avoid that one like the plague. If I have to go to Walmart (I do sometimes, as they are the only store in town that stays open 24/7) I'll go out of my way to drive the 10 miles to the other Walmart Supercenter which is far better stocked and managed. Also, while the PBIA Walmart (the sucky one by the airport) has hardly any TMNT products save a package of underwear or a shirt, the one out in horseland (the very nice one) has tons of TMNT products.

Buslady 09-21-2008 11:44 AM

um yes they do. All of ours does. Doesn't matter to me, I stopped wasting my money on billions of variants, I got enough unless they put one out that's unique and super cool...which I doubt.
it's probably something that didn't sell in you area, they dont order more. why buy something that dont sell?

NightwatchersOnlygirl 09-21-2008 12:36 PM

In the UK we don't have Wal mart

And NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (have I made my point?) Get them!

Just don't go Walmart or Target or any of those STUPID stores. I hate them!

I am from a small town. The town next to us got one then BAM every single town centre in a 100 mile radius is dead. I can't buy a pair of socks in my town. And my fondest memories of being a kid and actually buying TMNT in my towns hard wear and department stores were so cool!

Not to mention walmart doesn't really have much toys at all.

No but you have Tesco.

Ninjinister 09-21-2008 02:47 PM

Despite living in a much larger city than some in this area that do have one, we don't even have a Wal-Mart 'round here. I've got to go miles out of my way to go to one, so yeah... last time I was at a Wal-Mart was when the 2K3 Karai was still new.

-->> ..guess the only person who's gonna have insight on this i can understand is Vaughn.

I honestly am so damm confused at this point, cuz the damm Wal-mart stores are selling TMNTs minis and whatever the counts as basics anymore.. and they are selling out !!

I don't know what to say anymore or to ponder.

Raph's Girl 09-21-2008 03:00 PM

I don't get it. Whenever I go to Wal-Mart, K-mart, or Target the shelves always have TMNT stuff. Yeah sometimes the shelves are almost empty but whenever I go back there's more stuff on em. I guess it just depends on the area...and the fact that there's no toy store at all here.

VaughnMichael 09-21-2008 06:38 PM

It's nice to see my name so many times when just yesterday some one didn't know who I was lol:lol:
I now work for Wal-Mart and sadly the one I work for is at the moment anyway no longer selling TMNT figures.
I found a few in the back room of the Alien Hunter & First Wave of Mini Mutants but those all went straight to the clearance Isle.

I live in Pennsylvania which is a fairly large place, we have maybe about 20-25 Wal-Marts in my area alone.
And I kid you not there are only 3 out of these 25 Wal-Mart stores that sell TMNT figures by Playmates.
It's not just TMNT figures though, many Wal-Marts are shrinking the size of their Action Figure Isle down because sales have been lower than anticipated.

I keep trying to get a straight answer on this from Playmates and Mirage and no one seems to have one.

The only thing I've got was from that Paula woman at Playmates who always gives people the run around but she says that new figures should be shipping out next Month, meaning October.

I do have to say I do think it's very silly for all of you to stop shopping at stores simply because they don't sell something.
I travel all over this state looking for toys, comics, and movies.
Not every store is the same and not every store is going to have what you are looking for, and scalpers have never helped with the issue either.

Out of the 3 places you listed only Toys R Us sells TMNT figures by Playmates which is the subject of this thread.

You know I used to bash them also until I got a job there, the pay is good, the people are nice, and it's a fun job.
Wal-Mart may not be the best store in the world but it's got some of the best employee's I've ever worked with.

Canadian Turtle 09-21-2008 09:21 PM

^ Hey man, I have nothing against the employee's at all! Its a job and we all need one, and they have some of the most pleasent people I have met in stores no doubt. That still does not change the fact that tens of thousands of store have shut down all over North america because of Wal-Mart, and to me that sucks. I don't think Wal-Mart has a better product and even if it is the same as the small store, the small store can't sell it at the same price. Not to mention They now own Value Village. You pay MORE for a second hand shirt there than a new one at Wal-mart.... I don't get that? Anyways, I guess thats my rant and I could go on, but I don't hold it against people who work there, I just DO NOT like big corporations and there are a lot who would agree with that. Thanks :D

Ninjinister 09-21-2008 09:25 PM

Targets are actually the best place in this city for finding TMNT, but it's still quite a drive for me, and last time I was at the closest one they still don't have Sub-Sewer. It used to be Toys R' Us, but if anybody read my story in Laird's blog, it is not so any longer.

I agree... Wal* Mart's toy selection is overrated (at least the one I go to). Target usually has a decent selection, but still not great. And TRU and KB have uneven selections too.

Personally I agree that those sorts of stores kill small business, and due to the lower prices (which I could get a long rant into, suffice to say, "Shipping Jobs overseas to get the lowest price" comes up 15 times), it's basically all families can really afford.

But then again, there aren't any WalMarts near me. Targets yes... a couple decrepit, messy K-Marts I never go to... yes. Walmart is wayyyy out on the highway.

Leogeddon 09-21-2008 09:41 PM

The Wal-mart in my area USED to sell them

Reason why I don't like Wal-mart is because they totally ignore Nintendo, they'll give both XBOX consols their own shelves and each Playstation consol its own shelves (PS2 has two shelves) and yet they'll cram Wii with GCN in one and DS with GBA in the other, then they'll cram all nintendo accessories on another shelf next to it while Sony and XBOX will have several shelves. Nintendo's top selling both of them with its DS and Wii stuff and Wal-Mart ignores that fact, I don't think they like it very much, lol

Not the ones by me. I have two Spencers and Hot Topics near me, one at the Wellington Mall in W.P.B. and another at the Boyton Beach Mall, about 15 miles south of the Wellington one, and I often go in there to get TMNT shirts, and there are tons of figurines, clothing and other TMNT memobilia. So your statement is untrue in my neck of the woods.

Depends on the Walmart you work for. Like I said, I have two Walmart Supercenters. One by the airport, which I had a cousin that once worked there till she quit because they only paid minimum wages, and then there is the one out west where the wealthy people live, and they are better paid and the store better managed. Another big difference between the bad one and good one, is that the bad one has very few cashieres working for it. Maybe two when they have checkouts for 13. It's just the store there put in these self checkouts and have become cheap, relying more on those and firing or laying off all the cashieres. I fear that other stores, not just Walmart, but all sorts will be following suit. Saves them money by having less people to hire.

Wait, a Spencers or Hot Topic that carries mainstream figures? Are you sure they're not the NECA ones? If not, they must be what, $15 for basic, $23 for deluxe? Mini-Mutants for $12?
