I have to endure constant ridicule from my 14 year old sister for liking TMNT. To get revenge I sing aloud to the background music when taking her shopping.

All my conversations about TMNT go something like this:

Other person: "Hey, remember Ninja Turtles?"
Me: "Yeah, actually I still watch it and read the comics. Good stuff."
Other person: "Yeah? (Maybe a crack about it being for kids.)"
Me: "Yep. It actually started out as an adult-oriented comic."
Other person: "Really? Alright, cool."

Fin.

Never had to defend TMNT because I've never been given crap for liking it.

Which is why all of the American college system's fraternities must be filled with flaming homos, right? Also, you shouldn't punch people over children's cartoons. Seriously.

It's like in Sweden, where we had some stupidity among teenagers in the 1980's fighting over which taste of music was best (Hard rock/heavy metal or synthpop). Fortunately, it didn't last long and I grew up in the 1990's without anything of that stuff.

Perhaps all else had failed and it was time to kick butt. Ô_ō

This one time someone told me that my Ninja Turtles collection was silly and that cartoons were for losers and handicapped children.

I cut him, deep, and buried him alive in the woods.:evilgrin:

 No just kidding. But that's EXACTLY what I would do in such a situation.

You shouldn't have hit him, you should have called his family gay because they all live in the same house. Then claim you live in a super-duper shack you built in the backyard out of the plating from a 1972 Ford Ranchero, making the car horn your doorbell, and you just visit to eat dinner and wash.

Kids make no sense.

 The phone rang just as I read this, so I sounded like a total weirdo as I answered cuz I was trying not to bust out laughing. Thanks for making me appear crazier than I already am! :tthumbsu:

A friend of mine gives me crap about turtles now and again but it's always in a joking manner. Plus she watches Power Rangers and is into the old ass Wonder Woman TV show so she has no room to talk.

The only time I've ever had anyone say anything negative to me regarding turtles was online. As we all well know the average IQ of an internet user, especially one on Youtube, is in the lower end of the spectrum. I've had turtles used against me by people who get mad when I leave negative comments on bad videos. I always laugh because it's never the creator of the video that cares it's their legions of fans who feel compelled to do this. I always assume it's because they're to stupid to admit not everything they like is perfect or they have some lingering doubt that it's not very good and I just articulated it.

But in the real world, where it counts, I've only ever gotten compliments for my liking of turtles. As I said in another topic just the other day I got over 10 compliments on just one of my turtles shirts.

You'll probably get more of this on the internet than in the real world.

On the internet you can get away with things that would earn you a smack in the mouth in real life. Likewise, on the internet you can end an argument with a simple click of the "close" button.

Generally in real life people are like, "Ok, cool" when it comes to interests like this, but if you met the same person online he'd probably go into some lame ass debate about nonsense.

Its funny how the internet really changes people and causes them to say things that they would never say face to face in real life.

A good example is the You Tube video for the pop song "One of Us" (not the ABBA one, the Joan Osborne one) that goes "What if God was one of us". It's just a pop song (I am not religious, but like the song), but of course that starts a long discussion going on for years if God really exists or not, and people begin to citate the bible.
