Old TMNT cartoon.....
Were these ever released on video? If so where can I get them? I would really like to own all of the seasons....
|
There were releases of the cartoons on VHS. You could go to merchants, such as Amazon.com, buy.com...or you could scope out half.com or eBay.com. I don't think all the episodes were ever released on VHS, though.
|
yeah they were released.
|
Between 80-85 episodes from the original cartoon were distributed on 47 separate videos. I know this because I own all 47. :)
There are several places you can still find sealed videos in mint condition, or just videos anyway you can get them: eBay.com Half.com Amazon.com eBay would probably be your best bet since there are hundreds of videos for sale on that website. Amazon is also good, but you'll be paying top dollar for them. No matter where you look, official TMNT videos are not hard to find. Bebop: "Hey, boss, you want some jelly beans?" Shredder: "No, thank you." Bebop: "Huh? Did you hear that?" Rocksteady: "Hey, what's up? He's actually nice to ya!" From "The Old Switcheroo" |
Man the only two videos I really want badly are Invasion of the Punk Frogs and Leatherhead: Terror of the Swamp. I love those episodes.
I don't think they made a video with Mondo Gecko. |
"Invasion of the Punk Rock Frogs" is a very hard video to find. Should you come across one, even if it's not in the best condition, I'd recommend you still pick it up.
"Turtles vs. Leatherhead" is not as hard to find. I have seen this video on eBay.com before, as well as Half.com. I'm not sure whether or not it's available on Amazon.com, however. "What incredible footage!" - Vernon, from "Leatherhead Meets the Rat King" |
More than just coats
The Burlington Coat Factory near me sold Ninja Turtle videos for $2. I boat like 2 with the money I had but when I got more cash they were gone. I nearly hung myself with a neck tie.
|
I remember going to a Burlington that also sold the TMNT videos. I begged mom to get me "The Incredilbe Shrinking Turtles" but she wouldn't.
|
I too have gotten all my old TMNT epps from Burlington, I got: Heros in a Half Shell, The Incredible Shrinking Turtles, The Case of the Killer Pizzas, and Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady. They get new videos in all the time, one time I went there a couple of years ago and they had like fifteen videos, then I went there a year later: they had two, the I went there again, they had ten! I've gotta go back there.
|
:teek: Burlington Coat Factory sold TMNT cartoon tapes?
|
I highly doubt this, but does Burlington still sell them?? :D

Open Says me
Who knows, go and check.
|
Enough about finding, I like to know about a TMNT DVDs, I thought I seen some on the video/dvd covers but I'm not sure if it's really an offical DVD or not. I know that there should be videos and dvds of New TMNT coming soon.
|
I don't know where Burlington get the tapes but the get new ones in all the time at least where I live, they sell really well.

The new TMNT episodes will surely be on DVD. |
I can't believe that with all the crap that's out on DVD nowadays (the cheapo stuff you find in the $1.99 toss-away bins at Wal-Mart), something as high profile as the Ninja Turtles hasn't gotten the special treatment yet.
The Simpsons made it to DVD. The Care Bears made the cut. There is also the Magic School Bus (which is cool since I love the Magic School Bus). But these are all cartoons that have been blessed with the DVD format. So why hasn't our favorite show, the old Ninja Turtles cartoon, been treated with the grace is so deserves? I don't have the answer to that. All I know is that I really want the entire series to make it to DVD. Anything less than that -- to me -- is a slap in the face. *Keeping my fingers crossed while doing my Turtle-Indian dance to make it rain TMNT cartoon DVDs* "All right, Donatello, prepare to defend yourself!" "Yeah, yeah, Leonardo, anything you say." Leonardo and Donatello, from "Leonardo Lightens Up" |

Even some Super Mario Bros. and a few Zelda cartoons came out on DVD. Hey, what about the Turtles??
|
I remember the Mario Brothers show! The cartoon part of it was cool, but I thought the live-action version of the Mario Brothers was sort of lame.
Even back then! "If it has four legs and squeaks, it obeys only me." - Rat King, from "Enter the Rat King" |
The live-action stuff wasn't great, but it had its ups, in my opinion.
