What would happen if the ooze touches a human.
Not talking about the OT, but in any other version when the ooze touches an animal they turn into a humanoid creature with an increase in intelligence and physical enhancements. My question is what would a human look like when coming in contact with the mutagen?

they would turn into turtles, or theyd be very ugly.

You would become a Super [Whateveryournameis]. However, you would have a weakness when up against piles of wood.

They should keep the old toon origin, where a human who touches it turns into whatever animal he was recently in contact with.
But in the Mirage universe...I have no clue. |
You become a politician with a desire to wear spandex while driving a small V-Dub to Clamworld.

In the Archie-verse and OT-verse when a human is infected by the ooze they become whatever animal they had last touched (IE Hamato Yoshi becoming his pet rat, Mondo becoming his pet Gecko, That guy who became the Chameleon)
I don't think they've had human to ooze contact in Mirage. It's mostly been animals and plants. |
Either what has been said- probably closest to Archie.
Or just plain get superpowers, perhaps related to those of the animal they came in contact with the latest. A la Spiderman or the sort. |

I'm gonna go with....they'd probably just get cancer or something.

Well, I know from a TMNT role-playing book called "After the Bomb" as well as another one that covers time-travel called "Transmutations" (I think), there's a section that covers what happens to humans when they mutate, either by TCRI mutagen, or other similar stuff.
Basicly humans mutate in one of two possible directions... They either super-evolve physicaly... becoming stronger, faster, more durable, etc.. Or they super-evolve mentaly... becoming super intelligent and developing ESP and psychic abilities as well as telekinesis. Depending on how far they go on either end, they will either develope to have visibly very powerful bodies, or on the other end of the scale, their bodies will become frail and thin, taking on the appearance of classic "grey" aliens... or even much further down the road, their limbs and torso will shrink, making them appear more like floating large fetuses. And since those TMNT role-playing books are loosely based on the Mirage comics, I think that's basicly an indication of how humans would mutate in the Mirage universe. |

So who's all been mutated with the TCRI mutagen in the Mirage canon?
I can only think of a short list: Donatello Leonardo Michelangelo Raphael Splinter Leatherhead Bloodsucker (via Raphael's blood) |
Yeah, I figured the second movie, despite its liberties, still went the comic route with the Ooze. Shredder turning into 'Big Sexy The Turtle Killer' made sense with Mirage canon.
As for Bloodsucker, I always thought the story was kinda weird. First off, how the hell can normal-turtle Raph know to bite and suck his mutated blood back from Bloodsucker? And also, if that's canon... then what about any time the turtles get bitten by mosquitoes or whatnot? We'd have an army of mutant skeeters flyin around. And what happened to the vampires that bit Raph? |
In OT rules - You'd go freaky if you'd not been in contact with anything in particular (For example: Carter turning into a yellow hulk-esk guy with silly hair who's clothes can disappear and reappear apparently)
In Mirage rules - ... I have no clue... :-? |
If a human touched TCRI Mutagen it would be... interesting. Since it's debatable what the TCRI Mutagen actually does... does it truly just hyper-evolve whatever it touches, bypassing millions/billions of years of evolution? Or is it simply the byproduct/waste of the Utrom's humanoid skin, mixed with transmat waste... so it basically just makes whatever it touches humanoid, like the skin of the utroms did that they generated?
It's debateable. The original cartoon's mutagen was retarded. You touch an ant (or any life form), then some mutagen, then morph into Ant-Man. Which just opens a ridiculous can of worms. Technically, wouldn't you automatically just morph into some kind of hybrid amoeba, or bacteria, or virus? It's just asinine. |
And that's just it, the OT ooze wasn't consistent either.
Remember Mutagen Monster? The mutant cow didn't come into contact with another animal it just merged together. Heck, what did Shredder do with the rhino and wart hog after he used them to create Bebop and Rocksteady? And what mutagen exactly did Carter come in contact with? And how did the Turtles mutations into human having originally been with Yoshi deteriorate? Were they becoming less human and more Turtle? |
Not only that but... Splinter touched the same Mutagen, so why wasn't his mutation unstable?
