Sigh...

TMNT DTV premier invitation only. Guess I didn't go to San D is not a bad thing after all. Seems they get one panel, and one invite only event...

Hope some of you are able to make it into the movie to give non spoiler reviews

CyberCubed 07-10-2009 08:16 PM

I just wish they'd tell us which VA play the old toon Turtles.

Buslady 07-10-2009 08:29 PM

Dude, Shut the F up. Krang, can't we ban this kid already? He's either psycho or is out to get responses like this.

Yeah, I know. I mean, what's the point of premiering it if only people who have seen it in rough form by working on it, get to go in?

4kids dude, any info on this?

By "invitation only" I don't think it implies that the public isn't welcome, it just means that you can't walk off the street and into the viewing. They obviously have limited room, so the "invitations" are to control how many people show up. This is actually quite common for events that take place around Comic-Con. Last year I ran around downtown San Diego doing a scavenger hunt-type thing to "win" entrance into a preview of the pilot episode of Fringe. In the end, not enough people followed through on the activity so that there were a lot of empty chairs still available and they were just allowing anyone to just come up from off the street. Another year they were passing out "tickets" to a preview screening of The Island on the Con floor, an event for which there were WAY more tickets handed out than there were seats (and the "ticket" said quite clearly that it didn't guarantee you seat), so people got turned away from that. I expect the TMNT event to be more like the Fringe screening, as they're making you go through some amount of effort.

Ahh, cool. That makes a bit more sense. I just figured this was a 'job well done' type of thing where only staff and people who worked on it got to view it with a select few fans. I assume we'll be getting tweets the instant it starts..then cybercubed can go on obsessing about something else :).

I will be tweeting live throughout the entire con @ninjapizza, although I don't promise anything DURING the viewing. :)

Sweet, mutual request sent.

If anyone else wants to share their Twitter IDs I'll add you (if you're not already) and I'll create a special filter for Dromies in TweetDeck to make sure I see anything you tweet (since at best I only pay attention to @replies).

I've always been late to trends...should I become a Twit?

(Gah, I left myself wide open with that one.)

XERO 07-10-2009 09:50 PM

What's a Twitter?

Is that like Tweety's older cousin?

You're already a Twit.

Just sealing the deal for you...

But to your actual question, I've come to find Twitter to be rather neat. Even if you don't tweet yourself, it's kinda cool to follow certain celebrities and companies. The rabbit rescue group I work with has taken to it like MAD to the point where it's virtually being used like an instant messenger program.

The event is invitation-only, but attendees (21 and over) will have the opportunity to win tickets by being one of the first 150 people to collect the five TMNT buttons (available at Ubisoft, uclick, Prima Games, Sideshow Collectibles booths and the Party Bus in Horton Plaza). In addition, tickets will be given out at select times and locations in the Convention Center for some lucky fans.
This post is not too short.

Buslady 07-12-2009 03:49 AM

This is one of those, "Bing should really learn to read" moments, isn't it?

Either way, at least I know what I'll be doing during preview night!

ToTheNines 07-12-2009 07:17 PM

I wonder what uclick is up to.
