OT talkback thread- Leatherhead meets the Rat King

A great episode. Funny how all this was going on the same day the Turtles were out and about playing 'capture the flag' in the junkyard. The ep could have worked without the turtles, since April and Leatherhead would have stopped Rat King's plans. Of course, April would have been either a prisoner of the Rat King or news reporter gumbo.

Dammit.... I didn't notice.... Can someone move them please?

Continuity-wise, this was a pretty important episode for getting Leatherhead out of the Florida swamps and into the New York sewers where he belongs.

Good episode i like the rat king has to be my favorite villian behind shredder.I like the interaction between leatherhead and rat king too would of been a powerful team if they went in that direction in this episode.

I just saw this episode on CBS today. I thought it was great the way they had a super-villain team-up. Hope it opens the door for similar episodes in the future. I also thought the beginning with the trash drump was a bit of well written humor.

All in all, one of the best episodes last season.

Strange....

When did CBS get the rights to air the syndicated episodes? Isn't Fox still showing them on weekday mornings? Or have they all been shipped off to an obscure time slot on USA?

The Turtle Tips segment was the best part of the ep, IMO.

One of my all time favorite episodes! Leatherhead is my favorite TMNT character & thought it was cool to see him go up against the Rat King! I know they teamed-up in later episodes but in this one Leatherhead should have gator handled Rat King more. After all Leatherhead is a beast of a gator & King just a man in shape wearing bandages/rags? Just wish Leatherhead's toy looked this cool!
Cipher, you must be stuck in a time warp bro! How do I get caught cause I miss the old days!

Growing up with the OT, I ALWAYS liked Leatherhead. As he was to me, such a entertaining adversary the turtles would have to deal with. Rat King was great as well, and this episode where they actually met was just pure gold.

Only if you are Cipher Classic, "banished to a time-warp, from which you will never return."

Work together

In some episodes, Leatherhead and the Rat King work together. Rat King also works with Shredder or the TMNT in some episodes, in othes they fight each other so Rat King often changes side.

April I think breaks a record here, being catch by 2 villians,

Its funny she escapes from Leatherhead only to get tied up by Ratking.

No TMNT

A TMNT episode without the TMNT? Would be more like an April O' Neil spin-off.

I would not mind a April O'Neil spin off, just one problem, she has the Princess Peach problem, she cant cross the road with out being kidnapped.

Who will save her if she wants to take out food or something? Stop by the bank or anything.

I wouldn't mind it either, I think she actually has the presense to hold her own spin-off. Say a ten or fifteen minute segment of her own. Didn't she get her own spin-off series in the archie comics?

Who the hell is Princess peach?

ToTheNines 01-31-2010 10:31 AM

Ugh, NO!

Normally, I think April is a cool character... and while OT April certainly serves a purpose, I can't stand her. She's so one dimensional and stereotypical.

cammy85 01-31-2010 11:30 AM

Princess Peach was an official name given to Princess Toadstool in the Mario games after awhile.

I loved this episode! I didn't like that the Turtles were preoccupied for most of this episode but it worked out in the end, albeit rushed. I don't understand how Leatherhead and the Rat King can be enemies here but good friends in "Splinter Vanishes" but that's another topic.

She's not kidnapped in every episode. In the "Mean Machines" Aprils saves the day and the Earth by removing the cable.
