Nickelodeon: "they want to focus on the '80s toon Turtles"
That's the word on Nickelodeon's modus operandi for TMNT.
|
Not a surprise. Looks like the fans who wanted the return of Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady will finally get their wish.
Who knows. I hope the TV series can at least be the same tone as the 2k3 show. Meh. |
My last remaining hope is that they do something about the racist and sexist overtones in the original toon.
|
What the hell?
|
Holy ****.
I guess it REALLY isn't a surprsie....but an updated slightly darker old toon with old va's? Can my dream really come true? Where can I send my CG models? I want to put those thing to good use! |
Could be interesting, especially if the toon gets a darker tone. Where did you read/hear this Andrew?
|
A TMNT show in the vein of the Archie comics would be awesome...but I'm biased. :D

That only leaves one thing to do, at this point... http://agora.virtualmuseum.ca/media/...ido_04_lrg.jpg |
No surprise really, Nick didn't buy TMNT without wanting to use the 80's characters (there really isn't any worthwhile story elements though), I can only pray the series maintains the tone of the 2k3 series or Avatar.
|
quick Question @ Andrew NDB
Where did you get this info from? And what a "modus operandi", never heard of that word in the english class (I'm not from an english speaking Country ;)) |
I think this is cool as sh*t for the cartoon... but it ain't how I envisioned the movie. I hope they're totally un-related.

... Then again, they did whitewash the entire cast of Avatar, except for the badguys, of course. Ugh, now I'm all sick to my stomach again. |

Best two days ever. |
My dream came true :) FINALLY AFTER ALL THIS YEARS!!! Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, Rat King, Leatherhead, Slash, etc. This is SWEET!! "Zzzzz" lol
|
If going with the 1980s cartoon version of the Turtles for this new gig is even half as entertaining as "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" (a show I absolutely love) then I'm down with it. No point in throwing a fit. S'not the like Viacom would listen to me, anyway.
|
I'm cool with this stuff. I've always been cool with this stuff.
As long as it doesn't become the sole face of the TMNT. That's why I still have major trepidations about the buyout. This is a fine idea for a cartoon, as long as there are other versions available in some way, shape or form. Even if it's just TPBs and whatnot. |

BtT: I have to say, now after hearing it, I kinda love the idea bringing some old 80's TMNT Action back! I grew up with that toon! Can't wait for more details! |
