Pierce it!

Hey everyone, I just got my eyebrow pierced twice on the right side this weekend. It's so cool. My bus rider friend really likes it a lot. I think it's awesome. What do you peope think about piercings other than your ear?

Leo656 03-17-2003 10:10 AM

I'unno, not a big fan, especially ever since I was roughousing with my sister's boyfriend and accidentally ripped his eyebrow piercing out.

On girls I don't think anything other than ears and bellybutton piercings look good, and I think below the belt is just "dirty"... that's just me though. And guys can pierce whatever they want cuz I'm not looking at them. 8)

They are okay, but... I'm kinda of weary of doing it. Your eyebrow doesn't have the cartilidge that your ear and nose do and thus if it gets infected its going to go strait for your eye; same with a piercing in the belly button, if it got infected it could go right for your insides >.<;;

Don't get me wrong, I mean... I think look cool... on certain people

This nice girl I work with has one of those tongue studs, and it grosses me out every time I catch a glimpse of it.

Storm Wolf 03-17-2003 11:07 AM

*yawns*
I think you already know what I think of it....but for thoes reading I'll tell.....

It may be okay for you but....I would never do it! *shrugs* my opinion right I can't rip it out and say "You better never do that again!"

Eye of Sarnath 03-17-2003 11:42 AM

I doubt I'll ever have any part of my body peirced... I'm not one to go for that kinda thing.

Jade Green 03-17-2003 12:43 PM

Ditto. I have some turtle earrings that I got for graduation, but I have to disenfect tham before I can start wearing them again -- they fell under the driver's side seat of my car. :dead:

I have two holes in each ear. One in the lobe, and another up in the cartilage. I had planned on getting my belly button pierced, but it's been postponed. But I'll probably get it sometime.

Personally, piercings are like any other piece of fashion, what looks good on one person might not work for another. For example, I wear glasses, and an eyebrow or nose ring would clash with the frames. My friend wanted to get her tongue pierced, but the piercist said her mouth was too small and there would be a high risk of gum damage, so she got her nipples pierced instead. *shudder*

So, personally, I have no problem with piercings. Tattoos are cool, too, got one of those. Hurts a lot more to get, but it's easier to take care of.

I don't really consider myself a big fan of piercings, I would never get any of that crap. On girls though, ears and belly buttons are the only things I want to see pierced; eyebrows and noses are big turnoffs for me.

One Radical Dude 03-18-2003 02:14 AM

I could care less about piercings. Some people like them, but they aren't for me.

Caliosidhe 03-18-2003 02:29 AM

I'm sort of desensitized. I work in a Spencer's, you see ;) In New York, with probably the biggest collection of Goth/Raver/Just plan scary sometimes customers I've ever seen.

So eyebrows, noses, belly buttons and probably even labrets all seem fairly tame to me. Even though I onl have four holes in my ears, and while I ahve plans for 'upgrading' to six in the near future.. the belly button would be the only thing I'd consider at this point.. And even then.. I don't like the idea that it's the one of the easiest places to get infected.. And how it looks when you're not wearing a belly ring.. And how it could get caught on things...

I'm too lazy and it's too inconvenient ;)

(BTW, FYI... None of Spencer's body jewelry is recommended for use in the genetalia or tongue.. And yep, that includes the tongue rings :P )

:blanksta:

I saw this really cute baby turtle belly button ring at the mall awhile back. I wanted to buy it, I should have, but I didn't. Now the booth is gone. :(

Shadow 03-18-2003 05:25 PM

i have a death fear of needles. There is no way ever i would have anything done to me. EVER. LOL

I like them on other people... speaking of other people,

Kali: what is your tatoo of? Where and how big?

Leo656 03-19-2003 05:02 AM

Tattoos are cool depending. On girls it can be iffy depending on what and where.

I got two tats. A heart/snake/sword combination on my right arm and the Guns N Roses "Appetite For Destruction" cross on my left. It cost $400, hurt real bad and bled like a river.

And I never once regret I it. 8)

R-iZZy 03-19-2003 08:18 AM

I can't see myself pierced, except for my left ear... but on girls... I HATE, DESPISE, LOATHE... :lol, you get the point. Anyway, a hate tongue rings, nose rings, it just doesn't work for me. *shudders* Ear rings are all I could see... a pierced belly, eh... I don't know.

But as I said, I'd only get one piercing, and that is in my left ear.

tasuki 03-19-2003 10:07 AM

I would just like to let you people know that piercing your belly button is the worst hting you can do. I don't have it done, but those things get infected like mad crazy. The next worst thing would have to be your tounge. I don't have that either, but I hear that that's a very unhealthy place to get pierced too. I used to think piercings were the worst things in the world until I really thought about, you know? It's pretty cool for me though, because my face is somewhat crooked, and with the eyebrow rings and all it makes my face look more symetrical. So you know, I'm not really a crazy person because I did freak out about getting it right before hand, but it all happened so quick and it wasn't so bad. (Hey don't you other people worry I'm afraid of needles somewhat too.) :goofygri:

Same here....I actually only own one pair of earings, and my cousin gave me those  I got my ears pierced when I was like five so I really had no say in the buisness.....as for other piercings my mother said if I ever get a piercing in some other part she would rip it out *shudders* I just don't think I could manage the pain....

As for tattoos my mother said If I can afford it I could do it.....and I was seriously thinking of getting one on my ankel.....but somewhere along the line I guess I got destracted.......and again there is the pain......that and the thought of a needle coming near my skin makes me cry....(gosh I'm such a sissy :goofygri: ..eh?)

R-iZZy 03-19-2003 11:16 PM

Awww... same here... I can't stand needles. Wait... I can stand the pain, but I can't stand watching it dig into my skin and suck out blood.

Kali 03-20-2003 01:37 PM

Like I've said, piercings and tattoos are like any other thing, it's not for everybody. I think that if you're even considering getting any type of body modification, you should research it throughly, including the place you're getting it done at. Make sure they're certified, use sterile, one-use tools, the whole nine yards. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And follow all cleaning instructions.

I have a smallish tattoo on the outside of my right ankle, about an inch and a half tall. It's an anhk (sp? I can never remember how to spell that. A T with a loop at the top, the Egyptian symbol for life and immortality; with a yin-yang up in the loop. Simple, universal symbols, won't go "out of style" or warp too much.
