Raphael as Shredder Custom
Originally done for Patraw's contest last spring/summer, I don't remember the specific reason/reasons I didn't enter it. It was going to be part of a larger work; I didn't finish my custom Yeti (made from an extra Big Foot I had) until it was too late.
One of Ninjinster's customs made me think of this (I guess because mine is better :twink: ) so I thought I'd post these pics. Sorry for the poor picture quality-- these were taken with a cell phone-- I may post better ones if there is demand. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...tech/Raph1.jpg There is no extremely complicated recipe behind this custom, it's just very time-consuming. It must have taken between 12 and 20 hours to complete, and by the time I was done I didn't care if I ever did another custom ever again. Ingredients: One 2K3 Raph (accessories unnecessary/optional) One TMNT Movie Shredder (accessories unnecessary/optional) One Movie III Samurai Raph helmet A lot of cutting, super-gluing, and painting went into this. |
To be fair, dude, my Raph/Shredder was my very first attempt at anything close to figure customization... :p
I like yours. It's got more of an Image Raph feel to it, whereas mine was based on 2K3 Shredder-Raph. |

I was just kidding about the first part. Honestly. I wouldn't have said mine has more of an "Image" feel to it (but then, in contrast to your's, I could see why you might say that). |
The helmet is sitting too high on Raph's head, no doubt due to the size of the turtles' melons in general, but other than that, I think it looks good. I like the extra sashes/ribbons elements in particular.

Really? Two people gave this a 1?!?

The helmet IS sitting too high on his head-- that was one of the few things that REALLY bothered me about how this custom came out. Quote:
The nice thing about doing extremely time consuming customs is you get new ideas as you go along. If you look at picture 4, I made new bandanna tails out of Model Magic, but I didn't want to throw the old one away and I didn't think I'd ever use it for anything else, and got the idea to use it as a second "belt-tail." I think it looks awesome. Quite frankly it looks a bit busy with the belts. But other than that I reall like it, especially the way the spikes look on the shoulders.

I'm aware of that, it was something I really wanted to do, though. Quote:

I'm not giving it a numerical rating -- something about that just rubs me the wrong way -- but it looks pretty great! If you're looking for criticisms, the helmet's the only thing I'd really change.

Great Idea, I like the way you pulled it of :), if the pictures were better I would have give more point, but is an 8 :)

I think its great. Helmet does sit a little bit high on his head but other than that, Nice!
