Anyone own the movies on Blu-Ray?

I was thinking of buying them, but after seeing some of the pictures on Amazon.com one thing stopped me - that sh!tty cardboard Pizza box that the discs come in.
Surely they could have come up with a better way to store these??

I thought the box design was neat. Its like a pizza box, as the disks look like pizzas. There's also lots of stuff inside the box, which once removed makes it feel empty.

Its worth it. The films look great, only 1 has quality issues. During the dark scenes the quality drops. Other then that though I was pleased.

the box design is a cool concept... but isn't that great in reality. i really would have preferred bonus content instead of lame "character cards" and a hat.

the first film gets a lot of knocks for "quality", but it was filmed using high speed, grainy film stock. the transfer isn't bad... the film is supposed to look that way. personally, i love the look. :)

if you're thinking about picking up the set, check ebay first. i bought mine for around $40...

It's inconsistent, that's bad cinematography anyway you look at it. It's just more apparent in high def. The movie should flow from scene to scene without me going "Umm wow that looks horrid".

It wasn't a stylist choice they just used crappy film stock. Predator has the exact same problem.

yes... but that's not a problem with the quality of the br. the transfer is actually pretty good.

...and bad cinematography? it was a low budget kids movie produced by an independent studio... and i think it looks DARN cool considering that. :) they might not have had the money for 60mm scope... but it's very atmospheric, which says a lot for a kids movie from that time.
