Ok people have probably noticed this before but I was listening to Turtle Power on youtube earlier today and while I love the song, it just irks me so bad that while he describes everything from the movie in such correct detail he screws up so bad when he calls Raphael the leader of the group! Everyone knows Leo's the leader so how'd they screw that up so bad?? They worked with the people working on the movie when making that song as shown by the fact that the original turtles costumes were in the music video, so I really wonder how that slipped by.

Partners n'Crime must have been Raph fan-boys. It's the only real explanation.:lol:

It's a mighty blemish on such an awesome song. Even with some cheesy lyric choices ("They can't dust us off like some old coffee table"), it's still amazing. But the Raph = leader line always makes me cringe.

I feel the same exact way about it.

I always switch up the lyrics when I rap along lol

Yeah, love this song to death, but the Raph as the leader verse always bothered me. Maybe it was because Raph was the turtle that the first movie mainly focused on.

Thought it had more to do with the rhyme than the content, really. Raphael just has fewer syllables.

Nah, if you sing that part to yourself Leonardo works just as well.

That's what I'm saying, everyone does, so how'd they screw it up in the song.

I have to agree with you on that because Raphael starts out with an attitude then gets in his comical humor on the foot soldiers from the cartoon.

I remember reading somewhere, and if I could remember where I'd post a link, that the line was in the song because, in the film, Raphael was the most independent Turtle. I don't know what that has to do with being a leader, but there ya go.

When I rap along, I always change leader to "loner".

I'm sure alot of kids listening to "Turtle Power" back in 1990 was like, "Wait .... what????"

I was always amused by this blunder but it never bothered me. Classic song. Ok, who wants to do a voiceover replacement?

I was jamming to this on the way home from work today! lol. Yeah ,bothers me but o well. Still love that song. Anyone like Shell Shock by Gym Class Heroes? Thats an awesoe song aswell.

Me and a few friends actually got into arguments over whether of not Raph was the leader. My air of Turtle superiority maintained the fact that Leo was the leader while my dumbass friends were trying to say that it must have changed and Raph HAD to be the leader because the song said so!

It's possible their lack of knowledge of the comics, they must have seen an image of Leo with the red mask (like so many posters out there at the time) and assumed it was Raph and thus the leader.
