Wowio another Viacom casualty?
 

So I went to go read the last two volume 4 issues on wowio (since it's kind of a chore on www.ninjaturtles.com), and there ain't jack shite.

I know the buy-out is going to bring plenty of good things, no doubt. But right now, it's doing nothing but piss me off.

I never bothered to make a Wowio account since I was content with the low res scans at ninjaturtles.com, but yeah, kind of a dick move, Viacom.

I wonder what Laird's gonna do to make his remaining Volume 4 issues available to the public? Assuming he ever gets around to doing them, of course, but still.

You only needed an account to download them (for 99 cents), if you just wanted to read them, bam! you were right there.

Good thing I downloaded all the issues I needed when they were offering free pdf files.

I guess Laird will just release the remaining Vol. 4 issues in limited amounts and selling them to us for $10

Not 100% sure on this, but I thought TMNT disappeared from the site long before the Viacom deal.

If that's the case, I wouldn't call it a "casualty." We know Viacom kept all deals that were in place in place. If the Wowio contract ran out, then either of the parties might have chosen to not renew. Even if Viacom decided not to continue with Wowio, I wouldn't call it a casualty. It's just business. They're certainly not obligated to stick with them because Peter Laird thinks $10 for a comic book is a perfectly reasonable deal. Wowio kind of became a joke awhile ago, anywho.

*sigh*:tsad: I'm still bummed about the GoComics updates being halted on November 14, 2009.:(

I have never heard of this site until now. Sucks there is no TMNT. Have you emailed the operators of the site?
