Infinite Hollywood: Candy Cigarettes - Taste The Tobacco Memories

I remember those, crazy for them as a kid.

And I turned out smoke free

plastroncafe 04-26-2010 02:49 PM

I remember my mom sending me out as a kid to pick her up a new pack of cigarettes from the corner store. I'd get to keep the change from her cigarette purchase to buy any candy I liked. Usually it was a tie between candy cigarettes of my own and Swedish Fish.

Oh the things they'd let you do in the early 1980s.

I don't really remember besides a couple of instances, using them to make-belive smoke, think I just wrapped them up and ate them like average candy

Navin Johnson 04-26-2010 04:07 PM

Nicely written, Thanks for the memory. I was never so bad as when I had my candy cig's
rolled up in my sleeve. The chick's really dug it

Cipher 04-26-2010 04:27 PM

Those are delicious, and still readily available.

And I only smoke when I drink. No, really.

Loco 04-26-2010 06:03 PM

Thanks.

Haha, I'm sure the chicks did! :P

Spacebabie 04-26-2010 11:24 PM

Those were delicious. I don't think those turned anyone into a smoker any more than bubble pipes did.

Mutated Turtle 04-27-2010 12:40 AM

...They still make those. In fact,I have a set of TMNT ones.0.0 On Topic:Eh,these are OK,but they would be better with more flavor.

RAM BAM 05-02-2010 10:38 PM

Ah, I remember when Popeye candy cigarettes became mere candy sticks!

Herald7 08-08-2010 01:07 AM

I remember these, my friend and I got them from vending machines sometimes. Of course they got banned after awhile, but I assure you neither one of us ever started smoking. Not to sound corny but we knew the difference between candy and cancer, heh.

Wingnut 08-08-2010 01:11 AM

bum bum bum bump lol

the chocolate ones used to be good.

Koi 08-09-2010 11:08 AM

How do those work? I mean are they just cigarettes with flavor? :?

They're just a chalky sort of candy that look sort of like cigarettes. They're round sticks.

Chocolate to the left, chalk to the right

Charlotte_Sometimes 08-09-2010 08:05 PM

Oh those were the bee's knees!

I enjoyed both chocolate and the chalky ones greatly when I was a kid.

Surprisingly, I didn't end up as a smoker.

They sort of melt in your mouth and leave a chalky, sweet flavor.

I haven't had one of those since I was 8 years old. I should track them down. I can't remember how I got them but my mother must have bought them, which seems odd in retrospect because we're good old Baptists and don't really believe in smoking.

As far as I know my parents didn't mind the candy cigarettes; they knew they had laid down the law regarding smoking. But my Grandpa, who did smoke, got very annoyed when I told him about the candy and warned me to NEVER start smoking. I wouldn't have, but that definitely left an impression.

Jo Dawn 08-10-2010 10:16 PM

Ah, yeah, I used to get those all the time!

The memories! The overly sweet, chalky taste!

I don't remember except for very few times actually pretending to smoke with them. I more remember biting them off in little teeny pieces.

Brings me back.
