My 1st Custom "TMNT" NES
 

I found an old NES at a flea market for $10. It had all the cords but no controllers. I powered it on with Mario 3 that came with it, and it worked first time. It looked like something was spilled all over it.

I always wanted to take a shot at customizing a system, but could never afford to mess something up. I took it all apart, and sanded it with a low grit. I wanted it to have a texture. taped off certain parts and the green went on...

Thats better. With all these drying times I read how to replace the red power led. I am putting in a green one as soon as it gets here.

That is actually pretty cool, some logos of some sort might spruce it up.

Pop a ninja turtles sticker on that badboy & its ready to go! No really though that looks great. I bet you could fetch some decent cash if you were to put it on ebay.

Thanks guys. I agree that it needs a couple final touches. I didnt want to mess it up by hand writing on it or something. I am looking for some TMNT related stickers. I sanded away the nintendo logo that was on the door and the word power/reset on the buttons. We'll see, I may just start over as I have learned a few things this time around. I want to make a shell shaped viewing window on the top so you can see the cartridge when it is inside the nes.

That is awsome. I would have never thought about customizing a game system.

The color scheme looks pretty cool. Some other ideas you might consider for sprucing it up:

Some bead sprite art--lots of people are doing it these days
Mini figures--glue some TMNT mini figures to the top in a battle scene

heh! What an awesome idea. I totally want to customize all of my gaming consoles, now. XD

Yeah, a nice Tmnt sticker would complete this.
