TMNT > Everything else?
There are two kinds of die-hard turtle fans in my eyes; those who favor the TMNT over every other series/comic etc, & those see it as on par or just below one or two others.
Which kind are you? I'm the former, the TMNT beat out everything else I like. The Nintendo universe comes very close but I'm not nearly as passionate about it. |
I'd say it's in my top 3. With out a doubt.
|
Just now it seems to me a bit difficult/hard to place myself in one of the options, Nowadays my principal hobby and collection are ONLY TMNT, but also I have been interested in many other things (Multi-fan  ) a few time ago...Others cartoons, movies, Fairy tales and fantasy, Science-fiction, Also I collect for example Marvel comics, shells....I can say ...I get into TMNT "hard collection" recently (almost a year, even when i like them since a long time ago)...Sincerely I believe that I am very rookie/new as to praise myself for an clear option yet!
Well...a few posts later, I had pick first option too.... LOL! |
The Turtles are number 1 on my list.
|
TMNT are number 2 when it comes to comics: Usagi is #1 for me.
|
The boys in green come #1 for me. It's the main thing I collect for, and probably the only thing I'm passionate about.
|
..... *:embarass::embarass::embarass::embarass::embarass :* After my last purchase on ebay about TMNT, a few minutes ago... , I think Im ready to pick the first one option.....! :tlol::tlol::tlol:
|
They're something very important to me that take a lot of my thoughts and time, but overall there are a nice handful of things that I think of more (mostly some of my favorite anime/manga like DBZ, I"s, etc.). So sadly, I've gotta vote the second option.
|
For me, TMNT is definitely my favorite franchise/comic/TV series.
I have other interests in Batman, Pokemon, Star Wars, Simpsons, Futurama, etc. But TMNT is my #1. I fanboy it far more than anything else. |
I kind of go through a rotation. I've been fangirling TMNT pretty obsesively for a while now. Before that it was Buffy. Before that it was Red Dwarf. I was big into The Sims too, but I got bored with it after seven years of wasting money on it and got rid of them all. But I've been very into the fanfiction aspect. I'm too poor to collect anything. It's kept me writing every day and I need to lay off it because it's so addictive.
|
I also rotate fandoms, but unlike any other series, TMNT is the only one I've returned to. Twice, both times during a lull, which seems a little strange, but there you go. Right now, they're number one, and over my fan-life, they've been there the longest.
(And really give me the craziest inspirations. Really, brain, crossover with Burn Notice? How are you making that work?) |
I love tons of franchises, right now TMNT is in the backburner. Thing is I get burned out on things after a while and need change. I usually get excited when something new is about to come out or its been a while since I've geeked out on it. Now when I get into it again I get hardcore into it and spend a ton of time with it which is why I also get burned out of things.
Right now I'm pretty into Pokemon because of the new games, I'll likely get burned out on it in a bit and who knows what will take its place, but something will. TMNT is definitely one of the franchises I love a lot though, at the current time I'm not that into it but just wait a few months and I'll be back into hardcore mode. This rotating keeps things interesting IMO, the franchises never get stale for me since I'm not always into it 100%. And no, if I like something I'll like it pretty much for life, I always return to things I like, some things I'm not that into may take longer but stuff like TMNT its at least twice a year when I'm in "hardcore" mode. |
There's a ton of other stuff that I like and collect, but not enough to sign onto a forum and join in chats. Lurk, and check out blogs and news etc, yes - but although i've joined other forums in the past (Stephen King, Image Comics, a coupla music boards) all i've ever done is a handful of posts. Yet I come here pretty much every day - so yep, reckon the TMNT win!
|
I like them alright.....but I wouldn't say they trump everything else.
Especially when the comic has gone off on weird tangents......like vampire gamera raphael, etc. Interesting part of my list of likes.....but I wouldn't die without them. Or anything else for that matter...... |
I like Green Lantern way more than TMNT. There's just way too much TMNT out there I don't like vs. the TMNT that I do like (though the TMNT I do like, I really like... there's just not very much of it on the whole). There remains amazing potential, though.

The Turtles are tops in my book, the only other franchise I'm really into is Back To The Future but there is very little in regards to affordable memorabilia. Besides, I already own a DeLorean.

Know where you can get a Mr. Fusion? |
That's pretty cool. I'd get a DeLorean, but I'd want to swap out a ton of stuff... they're actually supposed to be pretty horrible vehicles, in measures of practicality.

The car is what it is, a production concept car. It's not the vehicle JZD envisioned it to be, but it was evolving into it. By '84 it would have been there since the twin turbo would have been offered. There have been many engineers and geeks who own DeLoreans, so luckily for the marque a lot of the quirks and quabbles that plagued the car have been fixed. In terms of reliability, the engine is a Volvo block, so it's actually pretty stout. Many running around with a quarter million miles on them. Also, DMC Texas IS the current form of the DeLorean Motor Company. They build "new" 29 year old DMCs with NOS, OEM, and remanufactured parts. To sway this post back on topic, I always envisioned Oroku Saki as having a DeLorean. In fact, a Shredder tale I had in my head would have included a scene with him driving his DeLorean to an undisclosed location to talk with a potential client about securing the Foots protection services. 8) |
